My fave linux distro is Ubuntu because it's so easy to use and easy to update.

I honestly thought Ubuntu was terrible. I tried it a few times and it just never really got any less annoying. I hate that I need to use sudo commands for tasks so basic as connecting to a wireless network. I hate the amount of crap that must be done in the terminal. It's just not that user friendly. Aside from that, it's ugly. I know that's not typically a measuring stick for OSes, but being pretty is the reason Mac has lasted so long and the only reason people have to use Vista. For linux, I prefer Mepis. It's been the most user-friendly in my experience. Behind that I'd say Mandriva is probably number two.

No. Once I found Mepis I determined it was probably the best Linux distro out there and didn't spend time looking for any others. I later got rid of Mepis when I discovered the linux drivers for my laptop's video card (S3 K Twister) didn't support 3D. That meant I couldn't even do the most basic gaming on it including ancient Windows 95 games.

How long ago did you try Ubuntu? I have not tried it yet but yours is the first negative comment I have read. Which version were you trying?

It was a while ago. I tried Breezy Badger and Dapper Drake. I think the current version is Hardy Heron. I just never felt the need to try it again because my past experiences with it were so terrible. Once I discovered Mepis I felt I'd found the distro I like. I tried Mandriva after Mepis just to give it a shot, but still liked Mepis better.

Yeah! Linux Ubuntu is the best, Free from viruses and also I used ubuntu to delete viruses from my flash drive and viruses from windows. And lots of free full version applications that we can download. Easy to use. I love Ubuntu!
