Credit cards, how we use and/or abuse them...

How many credit cards do you carry with you in your wallet? How many credit cards are too many? How do you manage your credit cards? How can you tell that you have a problem with the credit cards? Have you ever needed to get help for credit issues? Where did you go for help. I am writing this as a person who has no credit cards now but was in the past using them excessively because of a job loss and other financial difficulties... I went bankrupt about three years ago and although I have had offers of credit extended to me have not taken them due to the knowledge that my income now is low so I would have been tempted to use the credit card and then would not be able to pay it in full. I have vowed that I will get out of debt and stay out. How about you... What is your credit situation like? How many do you have? What is too many credit cards to have? Do you use them a lot? Do you pay them off in full or just pay the minimum balance? Do you get cash advances from one to pay another one? Do you use them for everyday expenses or just for emergencies? Where would you go for help if you had a credit card problem? Let's talk about credit.

I have no credit cards in my purse, I do not use them at all for anything. I used one once and that was the biggest mistake I ever made in my life, when I was paying the credit card back I was not even able to cover the whole of the interest and it just got bigger and bigger. We took a loan out to pay the credit card off in the end just to get the interest down, and then finally we were able to get rid of the loan. Never tempted to use them at all anymore.

I am glad that you got out from under that credit card debt and the loan debt that followed it... Congratulations on the learnings that arose from that experience and on your credit debt free status.

the credit card that i bring in my wallet is zero since i admit that i am not good person in using credit card wisely. as like you, i also tempted to use credit card in each transaction but not paying it fully when the billing statement coming to me. it seems that we can pay some amount and use the rest fpr anothers right? cause of that, i have so many interest rate in my pending payment. and in the end, the rate interest was higher than my actual spending using credit card by those chance, then i cut all of my credit card and asked to my credit card issuer to give me fixed rate in order to pay all of outstanding. at now, i prefer using any kind of debit card than credit card

I have found that a lot of people are in the same boat... The credit companies are forcing many into poverty because of the interest rates which they raise often for the smallest reason.

Presently, I do not have any. I have some Debit cards though. I have been extravagant going for anything and everything I would like. And with the Credit cards I felt like a princess but guess what my bills touched the sky and had to borrow from my parents. Then I decided that I just had had it! I was living a life of a pauper and I must come out of it. So I terminated the cards membership and now I am a happy man. *smiles*

I only have 1 credit card. I used it when I bought cellphones for my siblings. It is payable for a year so I just stop using it for quite a while since I want to finish paying previous bill. I really don't use it everyday, I only use it for emergency like if I am out of cash and I need to buy something. I always remind myself that I will only use it when needed. Cheers!

It is good that you are being wise with credit... Hoping that you pay the balance on time as that helps to decrease interest rates

I had two credit cards. Now, I only have one. I paid the other one off a little while ago. $618.58 It hurt to have to hand over that much money, but it felt good to pay the whole thing off, you know?

This is good for now but if you want to purchase a home, or something large later... you may need a credit history.
