I go to stores like Freight Damage foods and places like this to get
alot of my foods. They are so much cheaper. Some of the can goods may
a little out of date, but they are still good. They have milk and things
there that the experation date is maybe 4 or 5 days from when you buy it
but it is still good.I can really only afford to get food in these places
anymore.Do you have places like this where you live nd do you buy food
there?

I love going to this type of store. There is one only a block from the grocery store I go to most often. I have gotten some really good deals there before. I was just there yesterday in fact. I picked up some Soy Joy bars for my mom. They are at least $1.39 at the grocery store and I get them there for 8/.99. You can't beat that.

We shop at these stores anymore. We get really good prices on foods and we don't feel such a crunch at the bank. We usually visit those stores when they have big sales too because we can get weeks worth of food for a rather small price. We don't just use one store though, we make sure to visit several of those places. It means we get a a nice variety of food for great prices.

I try to shop when possible at the wholsale stores like COSTULESS and PRICE MART, those are really the two main whole stores where I live.
The prices a very reasonable. Most people shop at those places because the prices are not bad at all.
The other stores tend to be expensive.

I personally do not buy goods from a surplus store on a regular basis. We have several around, and I will but non-perishables there, but only if they are a lower price. I make a mental note of the cost of things like paper towels, toilet paper, soft drinks, etc. and if I can find a better deal in another store I will get them there instead of the grocery store or Wal-Mart where I usually shop.
While the other posters are correct that there is nothing wrong with the food within a couple days of the expiration date, I just can't bring myself to do it, at least while I have the means and have other options available. Things like noodles, however, I will purchase there. Noodles are not going to go bad like can foods might.
I think it's great that people do buy from these stores, however. It keeps the stock rotating and uses every available resource we can. Clearly, as we have seen in the news for years, items like wheat, petroleum, and other natural resources are beginning to be used up or failed crops. Whatever the reason, the earth as a whole needs to look at our consumption level for everything from sandwich bread to gas and cut back.

Yes. I do buy so much in these stors, cereal, pizzas, bread, everything. I have never gotten anything yet that has been bad.I have to save anyway that I can. I have seen out dated things in regular stores as well.
