Wow...my dad got a new Jeep and came to get the kids to go for a ride. They are now off having a blast riding around the property (between us and my dads adjoining property there is almost 500 acres- most of it his...lol) Anyway, that is a lot of riding! So, here I am alone...in the silence. All I can hear is the clicking of the keys and the frige running. Wow...almost deafening. There isn't really time for me to DO anything- they won't be gone quite that long. But I certainly will enjoy the peace for the time I have it. How about you? If you have kids still at home, do you get to sit in just silence too often?

I don't have kids at home anymore, but when my husband goes to work or goes to bed the silence is a blessing. I treasure my quiet time dearly and am not looking forward to next summer when he retires. I love the guy, but he is one of those people who can't stand silence. He will talk even if no one is in the room and has to have the TV on as soon as he comes into the room. It's like having toddlers around constantly. lol

No kids here as you know, just Tom and I. Not much noise unless he's watching TV while I'm in here plunking away at the keyboard. It's nice to hear the birds singing outside my window, though. I like my quiet life, but it would be nice for something to be stirred up occasionally.

When my kids were growing up, yes! I enjoyed the silence when I got it. Raising children properly really makes you realize the value of some quiet time alone! That's nice of your dad to take the kids for a ride, I love Jeeps!
