Side effects

I was just having a discussion with a friend about tampons and migraines. It seems that every time I use one for more than an hour or two, like at the pool, I get a rip-roaring migraine. My friend had never heard of this happening to anyone else. I was just wondering if anyone else gets this unpleasant side effect.

Well I don't use tampons but I often have migraines with my periods. I thought I'd do a bit of a search and I found this article which you might want to check out: http://www.csulb.edu/~d49er/spring00/news/v7n111-tampon.html
The one part states: People who use these products can experience many problems including migraines, heavy and long periods, bad cramping and diarrhea, Toney said. Many women do not know that these products can cause these problems because they are often attributed to the person not the product, Toney said.
So it sounds as if you aren't alone in this. I hope this helps.

That could be the case. You might want to check into that sort or not use tampons. I hope that information helps because I know how miserable migraines are and anything on can do not to get them is a good thing.

They can also cause toxic shock syndrome and yes I've heard of "tampon headaches"--used to get them myself before I switched to Tassaway. But that was long ago and that company is no longer in business. I've heard they have even better versions out now. They were like the Diva Cup only disposable.
