I am not really a nosey person. But being here in myLot for over 2 months now, I am surprised and amazed by the different kind of people I met here. Most are nice and no-non-sense kind of people who are really doing a great job in different discussions. I hope my question... what do you do?... won't give a negative impact to some because I asked one person that question before and he got offended. He told me that I am after his money. I was surprised because what I really meant by that was... to know what he does for a living. Or maybe it's a negative thing in his culture. Anyway, I just wanted to know what your work/job/profession... if you love what you do or not... if you have plans of changing it... or if you really want to talk about it. I am a teacher by profession but now I am a homemaker. I taught for 12 years and when I found the love of my life... I quit my job migrated here in the US and become a housewife. I am looking forward to work again soon maybe in the same environment but not necessarily teaching again. What about you?

Well, I guess I need to reach out with everyone here and to be able to do that, I need to know them more. A lot of people here are faceless but they have great ideas, big hearts and opinions and I want to know them. You are a good student and a responsible one, I hope that in time you will be able to have a real career that will make you happy and compensated.

Hi ruthinian, I am surprised the guy thought you were after his money. What rubbish! You should have told him you have enough of your own. Well, it takes all types to make a world. :) As for me, I too was a teacher. I taught college for six years. Then I got sick of it and quit. It wasn't my cup of tea at all. The love of my life is writing, and I hope to make a living writing. Right now, I am at home trying to make a fortune freelancing. So far, it is not bad, I just love it. Hmm, regarding the "love of my life," that is, "a man," I am afraid I have never been lucky with men, and now no longer interested in them. My aim in life is to make money, adopt kids, keep pets, have a large garden full of flowers and fruits and vegetable, write a lot, and enjoy life. Any regrets? None at all!! My cup overflows, and I consider myself to be the happiest person on earth. Cheers and thanks for this lovely discussion.

I am happy for you, you are indeed a positive-minded person and you see life in a positive way. I admire your enthusiasm with life. I love writers because I believe I am a writer too... a frustrated writer. But I am not making a living out of it. I just love writing and in fact it was my first love, I almost married my first love if I had not met my hubby.

For me it is more of a question of what do I not do? LOL I work, go to school, take care of my kiddo (who I am also a chauffeur for), clean the house, take care of hubby (lord knows he needs it), and entertain the world

That is a great job! It's hard to be a wife, I should know. Good job.

What a shame if that casual question was mistaken by someone for a malice. It was funny. He should have not answered instead rather than accusing you of trying to rip him off or something. Anyway, as for your question, I am now a housewife and I gave up any ambition I had when I was younger. I also think having worked for seven years as a tutor, classroom teacher, a cashier for an appliance store, a call center agent, a product trainer was a full packed experience for me already. I am decided to be a fulltime housewife and stay home for good, make money online, and leave bread winning to my husband just like before.

Well, you have done a lot and choosing to be a full-time housewife is not just a wonderful job but a noble profession. It's hard work with no vacation leave, retirement and you cannot, under any circumstances... resign.

Well I don't take offense to it. You are just trying to get to know your fellow mylotians. lol I myself have been disabled for 11 years now. Prior to that I was an office manager. But this has allowed me to be a stay at home mom and homeschool my kids. So in reality I have many jobs or roles that I play. I try to suppliment the very small disability income that I get by doing things online. I am also a writer. I am working on a poetry book and will hopefully have it published within the next couple of months. My next project will be compiling a book of short stories. I write articles online and I have had several of my poems published with poetry.com and also in some local publications.

Well, you have all the time in the world to decide on that, just stay in school for now.
