Do You Recommend Getting Savings Bonds

I have a ton of student loans to pay off once I graduate. I have invested in some bonds that I can cash in by then or throughout the years to make the payments. Should I keep doing this or find some other way to save for paying off these loans? Stocks are out. I don't have the time or the ability.
