What do you think? If you are a christian, do you think it is ok for christians to observe days like Mayday? Or do you think they are doing something wrong if they do?

Hi. I am not christian and I don't want to hurt anyone's feeling but I would like to say that there shouldn't be any hesitation in getting involved in anyone's happiness and one of the best way to do so is by celebrating with them.

Hi flower, I think it is ok for Christians to celebrate holidays as long as they keep their perspective. Birthdays, 4th of July, etc are all ok. We need to remember just how truly blessed we are and some of these holidays help us do just that. God bless!

That is a really tough question. Most May day rituals are futility rites. If a Christian celebrate May day and it can cause some one to fall then no I don't think that Christians should celebrate it. Just my opinion. http://salmonriver.com/words/nancy/maia.html http://customsholidays.suite101.com/article.cfm/mayday2

...I can see your point.. I think I would be leery of fertility (or futility) rites, even if they were futile! As I do know it involved worshiping a fertility god or goddess.. or if a celebration or observation caused a fertility act!

I am not really sure what "mayday" consist of,but i think a christian can celebrate holidays ,i mean what would be the harm? Maybe "mayday is something bad i am not sure...I mean christains can celebrate St Patricks day by wearing green, celebrating does not necessary mean you totally believe in the holiday, maybe they just want to enjoy the activities...

i think christian can celebrate even other religions' holidays (i mean not the ritual, just the celebration). it represent our tolerance to other religion.
