I bought my ipod a year ago and in the beginning I only need to charge it once for 2 weeks. And now I need to charge every week. And the charging hours is long which is 8 hours. How to prevent this? Suggesting changing battery is too costly.Take a walk to a Macshop and ask them to replace the battery is 20% price of the ipod itself.

I had this problem with my ipod. it cant be reversed or prevented. you have a defective battery just like i did. simply back up you songs, go to the apple store, explain the situation and ask for a new ipod. The apple store usualy understands and gets you a new battery. also as an added protection get the extended warranty with your new ipod.

Mine is doing that as well. But, once for two weeks? I don't think mine ever did that. But then again, I used my constantly for hours.

Only put it on charge when the battery is empty, and charge it to 100%. This may help to stop the battery life decreasing, but eventually you will have to get a new battery/iPod
