Professional car washes are often more efficient with water consumption. If everyone in the U.S. who washes their car themselves took just one visit to the car wash we could save nearly 8.7 billion gallons of water. That's a great saving don't you think?

That is a lot of savings. I know for myself I usually go to one because it's easier and saves on the water bill. I'd rather pay a few dollars and have it done quickly and easily then try to do it myself. When I do it myself it is painful with all the bending and reaching; not to mention hot and sweaty. I can't reach every place on the car. I also don't get wax like I do at the car wash.

Saving time is always good . I also agree with Grandpa Bob in that the less going off into the roads and thus into streams is probably better over all. Also I know many of the car washes in our areas use reclaimed water which is saving water as well.

And when we wash our cars in our driveways etc the water runoff ends up in our streams, rivers, lakes, etc. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is a good thought on saving your health not to mention the time saved so that you can get on with other chores.

Ah yeah, but some Americans live miles from a car wash, my friend. Do you know how enormous that country is? They would use more gas than water getting to the car wash itself, so it may not be viable for quite a few! Brightest Blessings my dear friend and thank you for sharing this information. x

That is true my friend but the ones that do can make a contribution. Maybe a mobile carwash can pay them a visit.

Hmmmm... seems a bit extreme, my friend. Maybe they should take an example from this guy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7DPRFMBXDc&feature=related

These types of car washes use a recycling system for their water useage. My son manages a car wash and that's where I get mine done at all year long. Even the washes at gas stations are now using the recycle systems as well. I don't know the exact amount of water saved but I am usre it's a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I expect not only having discounts but extra wax as well plus yours must be the cleanest on the block.
