Well you couldn't make it up could you. Scientists in the Ivory Coast are trying to sell a Coconut Tree for $1,000,000 - no joke this is being reported by the BBC All because it is a rare sample of a Coconut Tree because it has 3 heads instead of 1 - now if this was a Dog... Would you but it?

If it would produce a lot more coconuts than a normal ree, whoever buys it can reproduce it and make a lot of money from selling the new trees. Many people would want to buy this type of tree because they can make more profit from growing it. If this is the only one of its kind in the world then it is probably worth the price they are asking for it.

You make a good point, if they could reproduce it they would not be selling just this one, and that is what makes it more valuable.
