the last week or 2 these 2 dogs go wondering the neighborhood and they get in to our yard and bark at our dogs and ours of course bark back and so does al the other dogs in the neighborhood what a racket.
In is part pit bull the other one sort of a chuiwa wa . but I would also call it a feist . Well this morning it was right up to the gate where our dogs are just a barking away at them. If they could get out that dog would make one bit for our dogs. But I wen tout and shooed it away and it turned and barked at me like to say oh go back in the house lol any way I got it out of the yard and down the street.
Just dont know who owns the dogs but hope they learn that they get out every day. before someone calls the pound and they get picked up

Where I live, Lakota, you can regularly find straying dogs. We have one dog and Ashley is a German Shepherd. I think she's the biggest dog in this subdivision because almost anyone who passes by our house are amazed to see her size. We have a large yard and she's free to roam around. But we have never let her out of the yard and walk down the street without us. My husband has a little difficulty trying to keep up with her pace when he walks her though.
A few months ago, as I was walking my son to school. This dog suddenly came out from nowhere and growled menacingly at my son. Naturally, he was terrified and started crying. As I was shooing the dog away(I was also afraid that he might bite one of us), his owner came out and had the nerve to scold my son!!!
She told him that he didn't have to cry because her dog wasn't going to do anything to him!!!Duh!!!Her dog was already growling at us!I was raised to respect my elders so I tried to control myself. But I really wanted to yell at her and shake some sense into her.
I told her what did she expect? My son is just a child and he only acted naturally. Her dog looked like it wanted to bite my son's leg off!I told her, next time to be more responsible and not let her dog take off just like that!

silly woman not to think her dog wouldnt growl at a stranger.
and silly talking to your son that way whats with people I only tell people not to run or scream if my dog goes to sniff tehm when they get in the yard as mine never get outside it.
And if we have company over we put them in a room and block it so they dont bark at every one

Silly indeed, Lakota and a very nasty one, too. Come to think of it. Since that incident, I rarely see her dogs roaming the street these days. I guess she realized that her dog might hurt someone and that will create trouble for her. She's a haughty one, too. Before that incident, when my husband passed by her house and gave her a neighborly smile. You know what, she raised her eyebrow at him and promptly turned her back on my husband!
If she doesn't know how to behave in a good neighborly way, it's no wonder she said those things to my child.

It sounds like the owner is letting them out to do their business in other people's yards without having the hassle of cleaning up after them...
It could be that the owner is ill or otherwise homebound and cannot herself or himself get out to walk the dogs appropriately.
I think that if you are not going to call someone to report violations of leash laws, one thing that you can do is find a way to find out where the dogs are coming from by watching them perhaps from the safety of a vehicle to see which house they come out of or return to. Then you would perhaps be able to leave a note or to ring on the door bell and express your concerns. You may find that the person who owns the dog needs some help caring for the dogs properly... and then perhaps the neighborhood could be mobilized to help the dogs. You also could find out that the owner is just an inconsiderate person who does not care that her dogs are threatening people or harming property.
And then you would perhaps call animal control or an organization that is against animal cruelty and file a report.

yes I agree the pound would not be a nice place for the dogs, especially how everyone hates pitbulls, I don't though they are great dogs.

We had a similar problems with a large dog that was wandering round to my house several times a day and it couldn't get in the side gate so it would go into my neighbours garden and then jump into mine from there! I don't like strange dogs coming in my garden , going for my cat and peeing everywhere - I dreaded it getting in when my daughter was there as she is terrified of strange dogs and it did seem quite aggressive! I was getting ready to call the dog warden when suddenly it just stopped coming round. I would have called its owner and let it know what was going on but the dog wore no collar and I had no idea where it came from! xxx

Why don't you be the SOMEONE that calls and have them picked up? The dogs would be safer, not getting run over by a car,and the neighborhood would be quietier and safe from getting bit by one of them. The owners would get in touch with the pound if they are missing them.
