Why would people avoid a free 45 minute conference call?

I recently joined a new online earning program. Before you join, you are asked to attend a 45 minute conference call (either by phone or web) to see if it is really the right choice for you. Now, when I was considering the program, this really appealed to me because it was an opportunity to ask any questions that I may have had. The phone call completely broke down exactly how you can easily earn great money online and how they are an open book company. However, I am finding that some people are hesitant to attend. What do you think their hesitations are about? Do you think they think their will be long distance charges? Do you think they are afraid they will be tracked by their IP? I really don't know what the reason is.
