Stressed

Well, this is the first chance I've had to sign on Mylot all day, and it is 2:30pm where I am. I'm usually on here by 10am.
I just hate Friday's. It is my busiest day of the week. It's payday, naturally. So I have to do all my errands, which includes grocery shopping. Let me tell you how much fun that isn't. To save money, I shop at two different stores, a Wholesale club, and Super Walmart. I have to drag two carts around the stores, one for my food, one for my kids. I spend over $100 at the wholesale club, and nearly $100 at Walmart.
Sometimes I wish I could avoid Walmart completely. The people there are so rude, customers and employees both. The aisles are always over crowded, customers won't move out of your way even though they see you struggling with two carts, toddler and a newborn. The employees are the same, almost worse, they feel their job stacking the shelves is more important than you getting through to grab what you need. And don't get me started on the cashiers. I almost always get into an arguement with them because I constantly re-bag the groceries. I'm sorry, but how stupid can you be to put a jar of spaghetti sauce in the same bag as bread? Then the cashier gets all huffy cause I'm rebagging the stuff and starts practically throwing my food around.
So after all this, I get home, unload everything from the car, put the groceries away. Have to make lunch for the toddler who apparently wasn't hungry because it's all over my walls and his clothes. Then before I have a chance to make my own lunch the baby starts screaming his head off for no reason at all. I couldn't calm him no matter what I did so eventually I put him upstairs and he finally fell asleep.
So I sat down and had well over 100 e-mails because I haven't checked that since last night. Now I have maybe half an hour to myself before the rest of the kids get home.
Well, I feel better now. Just needed to vent!

Vent away!If you think about it,the only difference between Friday and any other day for you is the shopping part.Everyone knows how hard it is to raise kids(especially new-borns) and it is one of the most stressful jobs you can have.It is too bad there is no one around who could watch your kids on Friday mornings so you could actually have time to shop at places where you feel mjore comfortable. We hear alot of stories about the (mis)adventures of Walmart shopping.I wonder if there is another mother in your area who would watch yours in the morning so she could do hers in the afternoon?
Now....take 10 deep breaths with your eyes closed.Your work never ends,so remember to breathe

If I wanted to I could shop alone Saturday evening or Sunday when my husband is home. I choose to shop on Fridays so as not to waste precious time with him. He works over 50 hours a week and has very little time off.
I am used to it though, I had to do the same thing when my twins were little.
Won't be long before the toddler can walk around the store himself and I am back down to 1 cart, but I will always hate Walmart.
I shop there because if I went to a regular grocery store I'd spend twice as much, and $200 is too much per week as it is.

Not a bad plan.
Years ago before my husband came to work for his current company, he was paid on Wednesdays. I typically did my shopping that day, or Thursday, and found it to be much simpler. During the day it was typically little old ladies and stay at home moms.
Fridays typically aren't too much worse as long as I go early enough. I usually get there around lunch time. That is why I prefer to do the shopping Friday instead of Saturday or Sunday. Today just seemed worse though, and I suppose that could be due to the fact that it's the beginning of the month and all the government checks (ie: social security, welfare) were just issued in this area.

I know the feeling so here is my own vent hope you don't mind...I am a stay at home mom who does it all...My husband is the type who does work hard but he thinks just because he has a job everything else is on me...I take care of 2 kids ages 4 and 5...When I go to the store they both go and of course running around and trying to pass one over on mom....Trying to sneak toys in the buggy,ect...I of course do almost all the cooking, cleaning, yard mowing, bill paying,ect...ect...ect...I am so tired when I lay down at night I can't sleep while my husband lays there and says he doesn't know why I am so tired because I don't work or do nothing all day!!!!I get so mad.I walk out of the room instead of yelling at him and rewaking the kids back up!!!So I know the feeling...We need pay!!! Lets go on strike...

Thanks for that. You give me more appreciation for my husband. There are days when he can be lazy when he gets home and do nothing, but he understands how frustrated I am at the children, I have five of them. He tries to help with dishes and laundry now and then, and let's me sleep in a bit on his only day off, which is Sunday.

I read of your really stressful day through the notifier in my mail and was feeling really sorry for you until..... I read this:
Have to make lunch for the toddler who apparently wasn't hungry because it's all over my walls and his clothes.
Then I burst out laughing at you humour!
Even though you are worn out you still managed a quip like that - brilliant
They children will grow up but that won't make your days any easier as instead of wheeling them round you will have to run after them.
Then your Fridays might even be worse - but you might make me laugh even more

Hmm, I wasn't trying to be funny, the mess on my walls really ticked me off:D
No, honestly, I am used to it, I have lived through twins, who are now five and really more frustrating than the little ones. My walls are already covered in crayon and whatever other junk, so I'm not overly worried about it. It just happened while the baby was screaming and everything else was going on and the only thing I wanted was to relax, UGH!
And now the last of the children has come in from school, so it is about to begin all over again! UGH again!

Your Friday sounds exactly the same as my Mondays!! I hate Mondays they are awful, I take the kids to school first thing and then I have to go and get some money and then I usually have some posting to do so I have to go and queue in the post office for 20 minutes. Then we go to 3 supermarkets to get the shopping which I get delivered from one place and carry the rest from the two others on my 2 year old daughters pushchair.
We get in, have some dinner then we have to sort the house out, by this time it is almost 1pm, then if I am lucky I get to come on here until 2.30pm then it is time to go and fetch the boys back from school but then we have to go to the bank so that they can put their pocket money in and then with what they have left we have to go around the shops to spend the rest!!
By the time we get back home, the shopping arrives which I have to unpack, then I have to make next days sandwiches, do homework with the boys and cook the tea. Then it is bedtime and so the washing and reading too of children begins, and that is why I hate Mondays!!!

That really sound stressful! I'm sorry to hear that. It is good to let it all out it help in relieving the stress. I've had those days too when everything seems to be so crazy. My remedy is to treat myself some chocolates and eat them. Chocolates reduces stress by the way and it really works.

woww..., seems like you are really stressed... i can perfectly understand how you feel after all that hard work and you still have to take care of a baby and a toddler... anyway, i wish that you can have a quiet time for yourself until the rest of the kids come home... enjoy it and have a nice rest... good luck and have a nice day...
