Yesterday while I was out doing errands I saw the cutest thing. I was waiting in the car while my youngest Brother and his g/f were dropping off their dog at the groomers. A car pulled up and a tall, lanky tough guy gets out. One of those guys that looks like he doesn’t take any crap off anybody LOL He goes into the groomers and comes out with this little ball of fluff dog LOL As he’s walking past the car I can hear him talking to the dog…”Aw, is da baby glad daddy back” “ooo, poor baby” “come on, pweacious” It was so hilarious! He was baby talking to the dog and I was trying so hard to not laugh out loud…I just gave him a grin and he blushed a little (I guess he didn’t realize he had an audience). Every trace of tough guy was gone and he was putty in that dog’s hands. When my Petey was alive I used to get the same way with him…especially on vet day. I didn’t care who was around to hear me either. Petey was my baby and I let him know it. Now I cuddle Morgana and yes, sometimes I still baby talk with her. She loves it…especially on vet day (shhhh…it’s next month and she doesn’t know it yet). BTW, the pic attached is one from the net…that dog was actually born with the heart marking in it’s fur…how cool is that! Do you baby talk to your pet? Have you ever been caught doing it? Would it embarrass you if you were? Do you think ppl expect it for the most part? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I love it when the tough guys are tamed by a simple love for their pet. It kinda get ya in the heart. I talk baby talk to my dog fairly often. I don't care who is around at all. Sherlock is my baby, and if someone thinks it is silly then more'e the pity for them! I love that little guy. : ) Thanks for sharing the observation.

I was trying to picture that tough dude with the dog. It takes all sorts, I guess. Baby talking to your pets is done by everyone in some way or another. And I like that picture with the dog and the heart on its side. My Dalmatian had a heart on his chest. That bought back memories for me.

I talk to my cats like that all the time but I am a girl lol, my son who is a man sometimes does but only when he thinks I can't hear him because for him a guy taking to an animal like that is embarrassing.

I baby talked to my Shar Pei, Meg, all the time. Even when we would go for a walk, I'd talk to her that way. I think everyone in the neighborhood got used to me after a while, but I would still get the smiles and laughs for it. I talk to my cats that way too, but they look at me as if I'm totally bonkers! LOL

Yes, I baby my kitten. She is 6 weeks old. Sometimes when we are in public I have to feed her formula from a bottle. People look at me strange because I am holding her like I am holding a baby, but I don't care. Sometimes I even sing to her too, but I don't worry about who is looking.

I'm laughing hysterically twoey...yes, isn't it funny how a big, burly guy, the kind that comes across as a no nonsense kind of person can be a real mushy teddy bear when it comes to a cute cuddly dog (or cat). Well I don't exactly do baby talk with my two kitties but I do have my own kind of language for them and even a song I sing to Pyewacket...have to think up one for Kissy--of course the two of them look at me like their mom is demented...LOL I think most people with pets do have some kind of baby talk or some made up language for their pets, just like the way we say really dumb things to a human baby...I mean..just what does goo-goo-ga-ga mean anyway?

You will find that alot of that type, look worse than their bite is. It sounds like that dog had him wrapped around his finger. It is a cute thing to see.

Well of course I talk baby talk to my two little dogs twoey - doesn't everyone? hehe! Even my hubby talks baby talk to them - except when we are out, or in company! That must have been funny hearing that macho man baby talking to his dog when he came out of the dog groomers! See, we all have it in us!

We dont baby talk to our dogs but we talk to them like they are our kids. We are Mommy and Daddy to them. They even seem to understand what we say to them, especially when we ask them if they are good girls.

This is something I can get a vivid picture of in my head. lol I think that is awesome that he loved his dog so much and showed it from the heart even thou he was 'caught' in the act and really didn't mind. I'm always talking to my animals since they love talking to me so much. Many a times I'll be at Petco or the vet's office with Domingo and we would be holding a convo much to e1 delight. Several times I was told it looked like I was talking a person instead of a dog. lol

That is so cute. i'm worse though, I've been known to take my birds, cage and all, for a walk and talk to them along the way. Oh, and I talk to my fish as though they are babies too. Hey, they are part of my family after all.

its been awhile since I could have a pet but I think its gretthat that big burly guy could show so much loove for his dog.just shows we should not judge a man by his size and bearing. but no no baby talk for me as I really cannot abide it my family talked baby talk to my son and he had to have some speech theraphy in kindergarten to undo the damage from the dumb baby talk. But I will talk all mushy to a pet but it will be american english words not babytalk.

Oh twoey my grandson brought me my baby girl when she was only 7 days old...I fell in love, she is a long hair chihuuhia, and she is my baby, her name is "Tiny",and oh yes we baby talk her all the time...She will bark when someone comes around and we tell each other she is " tecking"meaning protecting...and i hold her and say things like"Oh my baby is so wheat" meaning "sweet"....We act so silly sometimes i say to her" Come on Monkies lets go Potty"She is so spoiled that she just thinks everybody loves her...She actually runs the house...We had her spaded very young and she knows nothing about male dogs...My friend brought over her youg male dog and you know how male dogs lick and smell, well it was so funny she had no idea what he was doing...We are both totally in love with our "TinY' she gets her way and she knows how much we love her...I talk baby talk to "Tiny" all the time and it is silly how we act about her most of the time..She sleeps with me,and she can make me act ways I normally would not act...Our little pets, has a way of winning us over....................

Everyone who knows me knows that Mo is my baby, and I talk to her like one. I don't care who's around. She is not very affectionate or cuddly most of the time, but she likes it when I talk to her like that.

Yes, I talk to my cat and my 2 dogs all the time and I could care less who is around. I have been an animal lover all my life and I don't hide my feelings.

That is precious. My hubby is so cute when he baby talks to small animals and even stuffed ones. He has a stuffed elephant that he adores! When I am annoyed with hubby instead of yelling at him, I just go get that elephant and have it look at him with reproachful eyes, lol.
