My Son Just HAS to be With me!!!

I have been sitting here this morning trying to do some My Lot and my boy spent a good half hour here on my lap playing with a dump truck on the desk while I tried to type around him! I so wish It could have been video taped as I'm sure it would have looked quite comical! Have your children ever had the need to be with you THIS MUCH!? ~Heavens~

Oh Sweety Niamh was like this until about a year ago - she would also cry for me if she was at her Grans or my sisters - even at her friends! Now though she is a lot better, she still likes to be with Mum. loves to cuddle in and just know I am there but she will quite happily go with other people and stay away for a few days as long as I speak to her on the phone and she knows I am ok. In fact this weekend she is at my sisters until Monday for about the 3rd time so far this year - this time last year she wouldn't have wanted to go let alone be excited about it! xxx

That's so great Mo!!! I love my boy to pieces as you know but it would be nice to have a shower once in a while or do a sink of dishes or run the vacuum without an interruption or him needing me to do something...even when Daddy is there it must be Mommy! LOL Bless Him! Hope you are enjoying your week-end of solitude! HUGS ~Heavens~

I know exactly what you mean sweets - you adore them and your heart is full because you know they adore you but wouldn't it be nice just to turn around without someone clinging to you! It'll happen sweets, honest! I am having a nice relaxing time and can't believe she will be back tomorrow! lol xxx

My youngest gets like this all the time. I love him but hes 7 and too big to be clingy like this. Not much I can do with him when hes like this if I say know he gets really upset.

I truly do understand Minnie! My boy is as tall as my waist now and around forty pounds quite a big boy!! Of course, if I say no he also gets upset and I do love to spend the time it is just it would be nice to get something accomplished without the disruption or him right at my feet! For me, even a shower is a luxery! Have a wonderful day!! ~Heavens~

Oh yes! Even now that they are older (8 and 10 years old), they will come an lay on me or play around me. I had to make a spot for my daughter in my scrapbooking studio so she could have her own place. She loves to be in there when I am working on a scrapbook or on the computer. She has her own plastic drawers for her supplies too. My son always wants me to be with him and watch him play video games. But it drives me crazy because I wouild want to play differently than how he was playing. So I usually sit there, and pretend that I'm really paying attention. I'll look over and tell him what a good job he's doing.

Sounds like me sometimes when my son wants me to watch something with him or he will want to include me by asking me to say stuff (Hard to explain but he has Autism and unless I say what he wants me to say he will keep on asking) ~Heavens~

My 4 year old daughter loves to do this. She is always wondering who I am typing to, what I'm talking about and likes to type what I tell her to type. It's so cute. It does bug me every now and then but it is quite funny.

Yes, quite a few times. I love it when they are like that because they grow up so fast and you start to feel like they don't need you anymore. I always treasure the moments that they feel they need to be around me.

Thanks lovespecialangel! My boy is always with me! I can't get anything accomplished when he is around most days!there are some where he will amuse himself but often he wants to be with me and I have to do things when he is in therapy or at school as he has Autism and is a 24/7 Care.... I do cherish him and the time I spend with him but sometimes I just need some time to myself or to be able to wash the dishes or have a shower! LOL These are things that are a luxery for me!! ~Heavens~

yup...all my girls were very clingy when they were little. How often I wished I could just move around without one of them literally hanging on to me....then they grew and got more independent and I found myself missing the cuddling and affection.enjoy it...it's a very temporary phase.

Oh yeah, and the cat too.. But mostly my son, he loves attention especially when he is bored and sees me sitting here.. But now that he has gotten so big, he doesn't sit in my lap as often as he used to.. So don't take this special time with him for granted..

Yes! My eldest is now 20 and very independent but he was a clinging vine till he was about four. I felt like we were joined at the hip! I miss the days of playing trucks with my boys. Enjoy your little guy while you can, they grow up so fast!

At some point or the other I usually always have a child that wants to sit on my lap whilst I am typing, I do not mind of course but it does make typing slightly difficult. Boys love their mummies, my 6 year old always comes to me if he is upset to tell me his problems and he always sits as close as he possibly can to me, he is a little sweetheart!!

I do feel privileged that my boy loves me so much! I am his whole world...Daddy could be invisible at times and I feel sorry for my Hubby in that respect but I do feel it an honor to be his Mother!! ~Heavens~
