What do you do to try and get your referrals to be active? I just asked a question about obtaining referrals and the first person to respond amazed me with the amount of referrals she has. But sadly of all these referrals not even 10% of them are active. So what do you do? Is there a way to try and get your inactive referrals to become more active?

I am afraid that I have not found a way. I have tried to email them to tell them how good the site is but it does not really work. the best thing is to really find people who are likley to be active when you sign them up...pretty difficult to tell though.

Unfortunatly you can't force anyone to do anything. I have 6 referrals, most have been here over a week, and none have done a single post, nor earned a single penny. I have sent messages to the ones that have added me to friends, just letting them know I'm willing to offer help if needed, but they never responded. Maybe they signed up and realized they didn't have the time, or maybe Mylot just isn't for them, it's not for everyone. Just let it be, eventually you'll get some active referrals!

I don't think so. Most of the time to get refferals you tell friends and in that way you get a fair ammount of refferals. Some of your friends however may not have the time to join the community or just don't like the Idea of becoming part of something like this. So the friends that are interested in what the site you are reffering to will stay in the ones that don't, won't...Pretty simple. Of course you can pay the refferals to be active however I don't think that's such a good Idea unless you know that they'll be worthy. Getting refferals has always been a problem and that's why I leave a few links on my signature on forums that I visit and I get at least 5 refferals in 1 week

You can't really force anyone to be active but if you explained the referal system to them and how they could increase their earnings by refering others maybe it would encourage them to become more active. Or if you knew of a particular topic they liked you might point them in the direction of those discussions. But then it would probably just be easier to add to the discussions yourself, unless you were pretty sure they would get hooked once they started in on the discussion.
