Easy Reading

Hi there I tend to read novels and the odd biography. When I find an author which I like, I try to read as many books of the specific author. Do you think that this get quite boring as there is most of the time a specific style of writing? I also love to read my favourite magazines as an alternative to the books

No, I don't think so... when i read books of the same author, I always admire how they write.

Happy reading everybody! I think that it does not always matter what you read but rather THAT you read and enjoy it. I can't even imagine my life without books and magazines.

If I find an author I particularly like, then I will read as many of their books that I can. I've read all of Dan Brown's books and about three books away from reading the whole of Sidney Sheldons bibliography! If you find an author that you like, why not read all their books? You can waste a lot of time and money trying to find a decent author!

I do this when I find an author that I like. Sometimes I can be disappointed if other books by the same author do not have the same appeal. Some authors write to a forumula so all their books have a similar structure. I find this most often with crime writers who use the same detective or police characters in all their books and some of them become a bit predictable. There are writers who produce books that I enjoy every time, and I will go on reading them for as long as they continue to write.

Sometimes, it's the style of writing that appeals, so a number of books written in a similar way can be enjoyable. I have read books by authors that are of a completely different style though.

No I don't think this is boring. I tend to do the same kind of thing. If I find a book I really enjoyed I will look for other books by that author and read as many as I can. For instance: I will read ANYTHING by John Saul. I love his writing style. I love the genre he writes in. I think he is probably the BEST thriller writer I have found. I mean there are others that I like and I will read if their books catch my interest but I read the back first. I don't even read the back when it is John Saul, I just buy it.
