The Highest Form of COURAGE

I am a person who loves to start conversations especially to people who are older and wiser than me. Why? Because I love to gain wisdom. One time, I talked to a friend whom i consider a mentor. He asked me on what is the highest form of courage. I paused to think. I thought it's bravery then LOVE. So i said it's LOVE. He replied that my answer was too broad. Then, he gave me his answer. The highest form of courage is patience. I questioned why was that so. He let me realized that waiting is that biggest test of courage. Patience is a virtue. A virtue too difficult to have especially in our present generation. And I agree with him that is patience. Patience leads to humility. And humility to courage. It takes a great courage to be patient and wait.

In todays society people are much less patient as technology makes things so fast what with fast food faster computers Internet connections and modes of transport etc people are just losing the ability. It seems everything is getting faster these days and anything that takes time is annoying to everyone, we all want instant gratification.
So it really does take courage to be patient these days in a world where everyone wants things to happen fast and complains when they don't.

I'm not sure I fully understand that but I do know that patience is important and that it requires great strength of character. I am naturally rather impatient but in my life I have learned that some things take a long time to happen.
There were things I longed for when I was young, but which only came true after many years. Now I no longer expect things to happen straight away, so I will try to be more patient.

That is great to hear. It's so hard to be patient especially when you want to rush things up. But as i said, when you're patient you're courageous because to wait is not simple. Because you are dealing with time and life.
