Well I wouldn't know yet...my husband and I have been trying for a year now. We believe in the Lord's time the baby will come and we 're not planning to consult any doctor too.

It took 9 months of hard core trying with # 1. No medical intervention, mind you just trying several times a day, and then me lying on my back with my legs in the air...I guess waiting for the stuff to get where it needed to go. Don't know who gave me that bit of advice, don't know if it has any merit... but eventually I got pregnant. #2 was hot on the heals of his sister... we were not trying at all... still don't know exactly how he happened... but they are 18 months apart. So I guess 9 months of not trying. Now # three has a different father, I remarried. It only took one month of just not being careful. We were not trying, per se, we figured if it happened it happened... if not that was ok too. My best advice is to enjoy your partner and relax. Kids are great, but i think people gets so stressed out that that hinders the progress. A calm mind is more receptive to carrying babies. I'm sure you've heard stories about people who try for years then give up and adopt. As soon as they have the adopted child, wham they are pregnant. Funny how life is...

Thanks Property. I'm currently waiting to find out if I'm pregnant. I'll test in 9 days! Wish us luck! I'm doing the lay there with your legs in the air thing - plus lots of other things to try to help the process. We've just been "not really trying" for about a year, and really trying for the past 4 months. I'm REALLY ready to be a mommy!

Well, with my first son it took over 4 years. With my second son it took about 2 years. And with my 3rd pregnancy it took 5 years. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage with the 3rd pregnancy.
My husband and I are still trying for baby #3, two and a half years later.
I heard if a couple can't conceive after a year they should consult a doctor. My husband and I never did this though. We just let nature take it's course.

Yeah, I think our insurance says you have to try for a year before receiving any help. I'm not feeling hopeless or anything, I was just wondering how long it took most people to get pregnant. The waiting is just pretty difficult, and the months can make you a little anxious.

Four months is still too short. It really depends, i know few people, who got pregnant just after 1 month of trying and some after 5 years! I got pregnant after 1 year of trying. As far as i know, its absolutely okay, until 1 year, even 1 and a half, but after 2 years, its better to consult a doctor...

Yes, I agree 4 months is really too short to start wondering if you need medical intervention. My husband's brother has low sperm count and motility, so I think medical interventions have been on the brain lately. I'm sure we'll end up trying for 9 months to a year before we do any kind of testing though.

Hi there wrld_n_harmony!
We tried for two months and then I got pregnant. I think it's not too long, lol. We didn't know that I was pregnant already. I didn't took pregnancy test because for the first month when my flow is delayed, we were disappointed. I got sick and learned that I was pregnant on my second month of pregnancy.
May God bless you with a healthy child soon. Take care.
