A gift that is homemade is from the heart and people are more likely to hang on to them. Storebought gift today is easily found in tomorrow's tag sale.

Anyone can go to a store and pick something out in 5 seconds and not really think about it. no emotional ties to it. But lmaking something homemade means you put your time into it and a piece of your self and it makes it all the more special..I rather give and recieve something hta is homemade and from the heart and something i can and will cherish.. It would mean more to me that store bought..

I have given store bought and homemade as gifts throughout the years. It seems that the handmade gifts are still around, but it is hard to find the store bought items that I had purchased.

I love making my own gifts and cards to give to others.
So naturally, I would rather receive the homemade ones.
I know the time and effort that goes into making that item special for each person and I appreiciate it more when I get the homemade items vs. store bought ones.

Whenever I attend a shower, birthday, or special occasion where I bring a gift. People will state that they would love have one. Knowning how much people love my handmade gifts, I try to always make something homemade as a gift. For bridal showers I make the garter, money bag, and ring bearer's pillow. For baby showers I give handmade sweaters and blankets. I know that they are always appreciated.

I really think it depends on the thought behind it. If someone takes the time to find something that'd I'd really like, I'll cherish it, no matter where they got it. I do have to say that handmade gifts are very sweet, especially when that person put alot of their time and effort into it. Some of the best gifts I've gotten were handmade by my kids. The gifts may not look like much to anyone else, but I think they are beautiful!

I still have a few things that my children had made. Due to many moves, downsizing in our living space, so many items were misplaced or just didn't make it through the move. I cherish these items knowing that their little hands made each little treasure.

I would rather receive a homemade gift because it is made from the heart.

I usually think about what I am going to make for a gift for a particular person. Sometimes it takes me longer. You have to think of colors, collections, etc. Then it comes to you and the look on their face when they open the gift is priceless. You know you nailed it.

I prefer giving & getting the home made things. They're just so much more thoughtful that store bought.

I love thinking of things to make for people and watching their faces light up when they realize that I made it myself.

I love to receive a gift that a loved one took time to make for me. That makes it so special to me. I can see the love that they feel for me if they take time to make a special gift for me.I love to make things for people as well. I have made t-shirts, mousepads, keychains and buttons for loved ones.
