itsn't it just a building? no offence but if you really have faith in a god, why do you need a building to worship it in? to me, it's a big money scame. if you have faith in your god you can talk to it through prayer or what your belifes may be.

You do not need a church to be a saved christian, but it helps.. A church is just a building until you put a few good decent christians in it.. A church is just a building until the people who have went to praise, worship and thank the Lord begin to sing and praise the Lord.. A church is what some people make it and, I agree, some churches are just buildings with people in them but when two or more invite the Lord into the church, he is there and it ceases to be a building, and then becomes a place of worship where God is welcome, and God is a part of it by being present.. We can worship in our hearts, our homes, our cars, our work places and even in our gardens, and God is there with us always.. But we have to invite God into the church with us.. I don't have faith in a God, I have faith in THE God, the one and only God, my God and I am thankful and grateful that he has been to every church that I have attended.. Have you attended a church so that you make make it a better place, a place that might see souls saved and people uplifted with the help from God.. I am not sure if I got my point across, but I do believe in God and if a church is nothing but a building, it is the fault of the congregation to make sure that God is welcome and he will be there.. He doesn't miss church much at all, try it, you may find whatever it is that you may need..

DonnaLawson; Please read your bible; Colossians 1:18 "And he(Christ)is the head of the body, the church...." ---since Christ is the head of the body w/c is the church, definitely Church is not like what you think a building, edifice or something ---if we dont need a church(where Christ is the head), then logically it follows we dont need Christ in order to saved. We cannot separate head(Christ) from its body(church).

Hi miserymachine, A lot of people seem to agree with you on this, as churches are closing everywhere because not enough people are attending. I think it is good to have a place to gather, but it doesn't have to be huge. Blessings.

miserymachine92; I will try to answer you biblically as much as possible First: Colossians 1:18 "And he(Christ) is the head of the body, the church;..." ---Christ is the head of the Church. Definitely it is not a builing, edifice etc. Second: Acts 17:24 "God hath made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;" ---it is clearly said that God doesnt dwell in temples, building, edifice etc. made by man Third: Have you read any verse that Christ and the Apostles have taught even a single christian to build an edifice, building, temple or something like it? I doubt if you will find even one verse ***************************** --for us a huge, luxurious temples or edifice are not necessary for Christian. A simple house or something that has a walls and ceilings to cover our members from sunlight and rain and to have a little comfort while listening to the gospel and fellowshipping would be better.

It's more than a building. For believers , there is no substitute for attending church. Going to church is a visible, tangible expression of our love and worship toward God. It where we can gather with other believers to publicly bear witness of our faith and trust in God, something that is required of all christians ( Matt.10:32-33) and it is where we can bring Him offerings of praise, thanks and honor, which are pleasing to Him. God is still very much please for believers to honor Him on a day reserved for Him out of their love for Him and His people. That's not to say there are never good reasons to leave a church-false teachings can poison minds and hearts , and dysfunctional relationship within a church can become destructive. But , too often , when we leave a church , it's a result of us being judgememntal , not judicious.

well it is the rule of God to offer prayers in a building, not necessary you can pray in open, ............. so why do you think did prophet Abraham(PBUH) built the house of GOD?

I'm pretty much with you on this. Though...I do live somewhere where there are more bars than churches. I never really saw the point in them, but I don't have a religion so I don't know if my view on this is very good. I don't really believe in a guy that was stuck in a book. But the whole church thing, there is a new church being built right beside another one. It's pretty pointless considering its the same type of religion and right next to each other. Talk about a waste of money. =/
