We know that anyone can contribute to wikipedia. How could you say that the information you can get from it is reliable?

This is the question I want to start my new discussion with but since I already saw yours, I'll just answer it. In our exam, this question was also asked, I remember in our class discussion that all of the people inside the room agreed to one thing - that WIKIPEDIA is not a reliable source. It is because people from everywhere who has an internet connection can edit it. But there are also some portion of it which is reliable. I must say that some people still look onto wikipedia if ever they need rush info about something. We can't deny that. In WIKIPEDIA, I say that nobody, can be somebody. The famous persons profile can be found in wikipedia and unheard people can also have a profile in wikipedia. It only depends on the one pressing the keyboard.

for the most part it is,but anything that's user contributed to has a chance of being off course/not researched here and there.it's fairly accurate though.

i think, to some extend, wikipedia is really reliable. the information in wikipedia is not of the writer's opinions or ideas. more of them are copied from some other websites. so, i think information in wikipedia are not cooked up.
