What do you make in the microwave? Any good microwave recipes?

I guess I have been in a cooking mood lately even though I have been so busy with everything I haven't had much time to cook. I think I am starting to feel like I'm stuck in a rut eating the same things everyday. Since I've been pressed for time and I have not been buying the frozen ready to go foods lately because of the price of groceries, I sure am missing being able to make my lunch in a minute in the microwave! So what do you make in your microwave? Have any good microwave recipes or know of good websites with microwave meals in mind? I'm open to just about anything - breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert :)

Just about the only thing I cannot make in the microwave is puff pastry or merange, because I took a complete set of microwave cooking classes back in the 80's? Why? They came free with the oven, as those were quite expensive at the time, being rather new technology. So being starving students, I did not want to "waste" the instruction. My favorite thing to make in the MW, however comes from a trick I made up myself, and you probably saw my articles about it on Triond, but it is 2-minute microwave dumplings cooked in a microwave omelette pan. I make killer blueberry cobbler the same way. I didn't like the way the eggs came out when we bought the omelette pan, but it works great for MW cornbread, biscuits, and all that sort of stuff. BTW, now the search words "Ann's Instant Dumplings" bring up two top of the list hits--ever heard of Clipmarks?

I will have to look up that article, I sadly have not had much time lately to do a whole lot online like I have in the past! Clipmarks looks very interesting - I'm going to have to check it out and try it, seems like it could be worthwhile!

I really don't actually "cook" anything in my microwave. I usually just reheat things, or like you said, have frozen meals. In all honesty though, frozen meals are far more expensive than buying the ingredients and making it yourself. But of course you did mention not having time... I like crockpots to save on time. Throw all the ingredients in in the morning and leave it all day. Oh, and I like to make fried dough in my deep fryer, that's a real treat! I can tell you if you're interested.

I don't really cook anything in the microwave either. I actually hardly ever use mine. I like to make things froms scratch because it really is cheaper to use fresh ingredients. Then you know exactly what went into your food. I don't really use my crockpot a lot, but it is a good idea for those pressed for time. I gave up on frozen dinners a long time ago because they always seem to taste so terrible and they also have a lot of sodium in them.

deep fryers and crockpots are good time savers. It is better to make things from scratch, and usually I try to - but sometimes it is so much nicer to be able to cook something much faster!
