Sleeping In

We have young children, so aren't allowed to sleep in often. On hubby's days off we usually take turns sleeping in. He gets 1 day off during the week, and 1 day off on the weekends. During the week I get up to get the kids ready for school and let him sleep in. On his day off on the weekends he lets me sleep in. He has been working 6 day weeks for the past month, and only getting a day off on the weekend. He has also been getting up with the baby at 6am to let me get an extra hour of sleep every morning. Last week he had a day where he was going in late, and I forgot to let him sleep. He was mad at me but didn't say why. It took me forever to realize! Tomorrow is his first day off during the week that he's had in months, and I'm going to let him sleep as long as he wants. That will at least give me time to do some things I want to do without being interrupted by him.

we are busy family and my kids are older, so we still dont always get a chance to sleep in that often. of course during the week, there is work and school and sundays we get up for church ( we leave the house by 9) so that leaves saturday - and if we have anything planned, well forget it...we have no days. (some days i cant sleep in anyways - last saturday i woke up at 6:30!)

Wow! I'd never wake up that early if it weren't for my kids. I am not a morning person at all! I think I have to sleep in at least once a week, otherwise I don't think I could function LOL

I can't remember the last time I got to sleep in, but I guess it must be some time ago. My partner and I work on different waking schedules these days. I get up with the eldest to get him up, breakfasted and organised, whilst OH stays in bed with the baby. Then at the end of the day I take the baby off to bed, and he stays up for another couple of hours. I always inteded to get up again after the baby was asleep and have some adult time, but I always end up falling asleep myself. I don't bother any more! I just take a book with me, and OH lifts it off my chest when he comes to bed himself. I fell asleep with a cup of tea in my hand the other night & poured it all over myself. I guess I must have been tired!!

It is so nice you take turns being able to sleep in when you can. My husband and I used to do the same thing. We are fortunate now, our only one still at home is 15 and so if we want to sleep in we can. And he likes it when we do because he gets the living room to himself. I think it's sweet that you are letting him sleep in tomorrow. I often let mine sleep later than me so that I can get some things done too. :)
