HA HA!! Not what you think. My uncle and his lover of 30 years are having a commitment ceremony. Why they waited so long, I don't know, but they are doing it on their anniversary. They have decided to do it up as the straights do. They own a glorious house on the Ocean and they will have the ceremony and reception at the house. My brother's partner's band is going to do the music. I'm taking care of the flowers. Tommy is helping me. He's so great. But I got to thinking. Scary....LOL. No, I was just wondering what to do with a bachelor party. I don't know Tommy very well. But I know that Uncle Pete has many straight friends and many gay friends. A strip club would not do. My husband's bachelor party was a paint ball fight followed by a hockey game. This wouldn't work for some of Uncle Pete's gay friends and possibly some of his straight friends. So I am wondering what my friends, gay and straight, would suggest. Thanks.

Thanks so much. I am kind of looking for something a little more outside the box. Uncle Pete and Tommy are both very rare individuals.

I like the shower idea as well. I know that at MY big gay bachelor party, having all the men pile into the shower would be very entertaining........

That is fantastic news - I do hope that everything goes well - please pass on my love and congratulations to them both! Their relationship has already lasted much longer than many marriages do. I don't really know them so it is hard for me to suggest something that would be fun for all but how about a karaoke event or something similar! I have just gotten blank brain yet again - sorry but I do wish them well and hope to hear what you all decided on and how it went! xxx

Thanks, hon. Uncle Pete and TOmmy are an amazing couple and I think that whatever the best men decide will be fantastic for the both of them. The wedding day and reception are all greatly planned and both have input. I'm so looking forward to the ceremony. No two people deserve this day more. 30 years is an amazing accommplishment.

Please let us know how things go and remind them on their wedding day that even people in Scotland are sending their congratulations and best wishes! xxx

Everybody Has to eat. Make it a bachelor dinner , not party. Pick a restaurant where there is a variety of food on the menu and get all the guys to have a dinner. That way the gay and straight will have a good time.

Hi cyntrow, First of all congratations to your uncle and his partner. Being together for thirty years is a milestone in itself. It would be difficult to know what to suggest, and I have to confess that I looked at some of the other responses. I think that Irish had a good idea with the roast. I really can't think of anything better. Blessings.

Thanks for the congrats. I'll pass it along. I agree that 30 years is amazing for any couple. I liked the roast idea as well. That sounds like a bunch of fun. Thanks for your reply

Wow, talk about having to think outside the box! It's got to be something everyone will enjoy, but perhaps a bit risqué. Well, you got me stumped! *thinks... hard* A masquerade ball/party? It's a bit risqué, a bit different, but not overtly 'straight' or 'gay.' Well... I suppose some might find it a bit flouncy... grr... Damn... I don't know! Well, congrats to your uncle and his partner, getting 'hitched' after all these years.

I had thought about a "drag queen" guessing game. LOL. Guessing which of the models were male and which were female and havving a bit of fun that way. I don't know. My uncles best friend and best man is a straight man, so I would love to push some of these ideas his way.

I like the ideas of the showers and costume balls that Irish had. Or you could also just do a themed party. Perhaps invite male and female strippers? Yeah, I doubt that would work, I'm really stretching to come up with ideas for you. Not knowing them it's difficult to come up with an idea. We need to know their interests and that sort. Maybe you should just ask them what they want?

well, uncle pete is very masculine, 63 years old. Tommy is 50 and not so masculine. They share a love of the theater and music. Uncle Pete likes sports and tommy likes the ballet. both of them have great straight and gay friends. I'm just speculating. I'm sooo looking forward to the wedding.

Damn thats a tough one!! I really dont know...but not knowing any of these ppl its kinda hard to come up with something that would please everyone BUT IMO whatever is done should be pleasing to the person the party is being thrown for ya know...Thats what I think anyway..
