Mini Implants

Last week I got Mini Implants in my bottom jaw to help hold my bottom denture in more securely. I wore the new denture with not too much problem for a few days and then I took it out last Friday evening and my gums were all red and inflamed and hurt a lot. It was the week-end (of course) so I couldn't do anything about it until Monday. All weekend the gums kept getting redder and more painful. By Monday morning, I was not hardly able to speak because moving my jaw really hurt badly. I called the Dentist Monday and was told to come in. I did, and he said that it looked like I had a sore spot. No Kidding!!! Now my instructions are to keep my bottom denture out for 3 days and call him. In the mean time, don't eat anything other than yogurt or other soft foods. I want to know if others have had implants and if you had problems with getting them, and how do they work for you now?
