My mom passed on her crock pot to my hubby and I and today I finally used it. When my sent my son to school I decided to start cooking with it after he left. About 8:30am I browned some porkchops and seasoned them. I then put them in the crockpot and added a can of peas and carrots, mushrooms and diced up some onions. I could smell the beautiful aroma of this cooking all day! All I did was make mashed potatoes and that's the most work I really had to do although I could've just put the potatoes in the crockpot but I wanted mashed. By 4:30pm about a half hour after my son came home it was all ready. The pork chops were so tender they fell apart. Wow I must say thank you mom for giving me this amazing gift! I even called her after my son and I enjoyed our meals and thanked her for it. She got rid of it by passing it on to me because she claimed that it didn't work for her. I just can't believe how much dishes you save from washing by using the crockpot! I'm so very impressed and now I would love to cook in this instead of using my oven!

The crock pot is the best thing they could of invented, it is so easy and really good if you work, load it the night before or before you go to work and when you get home supper is done. I use mine all the time, it makes the meat so tender. And you can cook about anything in it.

My hubby had his first go with it over the weekend.. on sunday as a matter of fact. He made chili and wow was that good! He made it a little to spicey for our liking about a three alarm level so we definitly needed to eat it with bread to calm down our taste buds! The sides of my mouth are just raw from it no word of a lie there! I had fun with the crockpot today and everything just turned out A-OKAY Thanks for your comment

I was visiting a friend last week and she was telling me how she cooks in a crock pot all the time, she loves it, I don't cook all that much as I live on my own so i think a crock pot would be wasted on me but I did have a look arounf at them and I am not sure if a Slow cooker is the same thing, they look the same...I think you will cook many wonderful meals in your crock pot.

This one my mom gave to us is a pretty big sized crockpot but I know that you can buy smaller ones because a friend of mine had one and it looked just round and smaller. She made the best chilli and ribs in hers. Thanks for your comment

When ever you use a crockpot any meat that you put in it will cook of the bone or fall apart; and it will be tender as i don't know what. YOu thing the pork chops were good!!! YOu should try making a beef stew and use nice sized square chunks and watch how tender they come out. Try that the next time that you decide to use it. It's great with chicken; off the bone good. Watch you will be using the crockpot more and more when you see how much time you save with using just one pot to cook the main part of the meal. Have fun!!!

Hi twallace, Oh I do forsure plan on using my crockpot for many occasions. I will probably use it tomorrow again. I would love to try ribs though. Next time I go grocery shopping I plan on buying some. When I cooked with my crockpot today it pretty much turned into a stew lol. Not that I was trying to do so but just the way the vegetables and meat mixed together that's how it turned out. It was oh so yummy! Thanks for your comment
