What kind of gift do you choose?

My sister and I have two different personalities when it comes to Mother's Day gift cards. She likes to include a sentimental(mushy) card with her gift, while I almost always select a funny card to go with mine. What do you give, a sentimenal card or a humorous card?

There are times when a serious card is needed, but I would rather give a funny card or even put something funny in the card.To see a smile on a face gives me an inner glow. Also,I think most people would figure there was something wrong with me if I gave a "mushy" card to them at this point in my life. They KNOW I have a warped sense of humour.

I agree with you, the few times that I have not given a funny card the recipient kind of acts a bit "let down". Like you, they no what type of humour I have and they have grown to expect my joking and goofiness.

Hi, Well I guess it depends on the occasion or the person you're buying for. I like to give funny cards usually. When it came to my mum I would always give sentimental cards, but with friends & other family members a funny one is always the choice for me.

It depends on the mother, for me. I will send a sentimental or meaningful card to my mom to let her know that I care about her. My mother-in-law, I tend to send funny cards to or luke-warm sentiment cards because my husband and I don't really like her. I feel too phony if I try to send her a mushy card.
