What did you do when you open a gift that wrapped with beautiful paper gift? I usually don't care. Just open it as usual. If the paper ruin, so be it. But Mom and Grandma always open the paper carefully and will keep them. They said that it can be used to wrapped other gift. Weird, right? But so many people do that. So how do you handle beautiful paper gift?

I don't know when I started to do this but if my memory serves me right, I have been unwrapping gifts and keeping the gift wrappers since. Maybe one of my relatives, particularly my aunt, has influenced me on this. Everytime I receive a gift wrapped in paper, I try to preserve the wrapper because we used to give many gifts during Christmas. And the list includes; aside from our immediate family members, my aunt, uncles, cousins, friends, officemates, and in-laws. You could just imagine the number of people and gifts we wrap each year. So, we save a bit on wrapper by reusing them. I don't want to sound cheap but that's the way we do it.
After all, what's more important is the gift inside the wrapper, right?!

I could care less about what the paper looks like. I'm concerned about what is inside the paper. I hate when people take forever to open a gift because they are too concerned about the wrapping paper. I just wish they would tear it open already. The suspense drives me up the wall.

I appreciate beautiful gift wrapping but I don't try to preserve it. I do save ribbons, though, because they're more expensive than paper and I use them again. I especially used to like it when someone gave me a gift in a beautiful box, no wrapping, just ribbon. I could use the box and the ribbon both again! But nobody has given me a present for about three years now so I don't have to worry about paper!

I tear into it, unless someone tells me to keep it... because they want it. Otherwise I don't care as we can always buy more paper next year. Besides it seems more people are being gifted by gift certificates.
