I am fan of many entertainers and groups and tv shows. So, i think I am a fan. I like Linkin Park so much, and my friends who are into music would often tell me that Linkin Park is a manufactured band; they are not really some indie act that was discovered because of their music, but they are a group brought together by some producers to have a commercially hit music. They would often feed this info to me, and the only way I defend my favorite act is to tell them that regardless of how LP came up, they produce music that suits me. In your case, what makes you a fan? Do you fight for you idols and defend them when you hear something off about them? How do you react with criticisms? Do you take criticisms about them personally as if you and your idol are one?Hope you would share.:)

We all have a different opinion I guess. For me, it's ok to be a fan, like for example you like this particular tv show and you follow each episode. The fact that you follow a certain show, it manifests that you are already a fan. :)

Yeah, that's annoying when people say that stuff. Why can't you just enjoy music without the 'help' from others talking in your ears? Music is made, you find something you want to hear, and maybe it fits you. That's where genres come into play. If you like something, who cares what others think. Some people just like to hear themselves speak. Life is way too short for that crap.
