I used to always read whenever I'm on a long car trip when I was a kid. Back then, I noticed that some people get sick or nausea when they read in a moving vehicle and I couldn't understand why? I always felt fine doing it. Now that I'm older, I do get nausea when I read in a moving car... but I still don't know why, though. What about you? do you read when you're on a road trip? CAN you?

It's nice that you can do that. I was able to do that when I was a little kid, but not now. Have you been reading in moving vehicles since you were a child?

No, I definately cannot read on a trip!! I can do it for so long and then all of a sudden I just get so sick it is horrible. It is a perfect time for me to read as well, the kids are all quiet and settled and it is so peaceful but I cannot do it otherwise I would just throw up.

I know what you mean. Reading would've been a great way to use our time while commuting. It beats just sitting around and staring out the window. It's a real shame not being able to do it.

I love reading. However, I do not really feel comfortable reading in a moving vehicle. I do read while on board a plane or ship though. I get nauseous when reading in a car in motion. At times, I even get terrible headache.

yes, nauseous.. that's the word I've been looking for. I can handle reading for a few minutes, after that I get nauseous too but never a headache.

Yea I can read while in a moving vehicle. Mostly just magazines because I'm not a big book reader. I get sick from being in a car without reading. I think reading helps me out because it keeps my brain moving and my mind off the road.

i had no trouble at all reading in moving vehicle, bus or car. The reason is, I lived in Jakarta. Where almost everyday, we stuck in long hours of traffic jam. I usually take a book or comics to killing time in road if we stuck in traffic jam. Sometimes ipod with audio book in it. Funny thing is, I read more in the car than in home. Cause I had too many thing to do when I back in the house like posting here, playing games or watching DVD.
