I know the movie was out a couple of years ago but I just read an article about it and wondered if anyone else had seen the movie. When we went into the theater, like most of the people there we didn't know that it was all sub titles and didn't think we were going to stay. After about 20 minutes we realized that we got so into it that the sub titles didn't bother us and although there were quite a few parts that bothered me to the point that I got up and went to the ladies room we stayed and watched the whole movie.
On the cover of the sound track album Mel Gibson said "The Passion of The Christ is historically true to it's moment in time. It's eternal message though is the reason in telling it and that message is as contemporary as the journey woven on this album".
Did you see The Passion of The Christ? What were your thoughts while you watched it? If you didn't see it was there a particular reason for not?

I was watching that movie at home and i got bothered by some things that history shows differently. I love Mel Gibson movies but in this one i got too upset by the way they twisted historical facts to make it "eateble" for viewers

The problem with religion is that every one makes it their own and twists the historical truth the way they need it to show. Thats the reason im an atheist. the violence in that movie is somewhat understandable because that was the norm at that time although im not sure if its supposed to be displayed so openly now days.

I thought it was very well done. I don't mind subtitles in films. The violence set my teeth on edge, but it's a violent story and the Romans really were that brutal.
Writing as an athiest, it didn't do anything to change my beliefs.

I saw it and took some friends to see it who were not Christians. They were very moved, as were we. The way Mel told the story was very close to the Scriptures, though there were some scenes in which he took artistic license. That's alright, it did nothing to detract from the ultimate story.
I think many people were moved as they watched it. I think someone would have to be cold not to be. The beating He took, which was softened by Gibson, and the pain He suffered on the cross, should be more than anyone can bear to watch. Yet it happened and has a direct impact on our lives. If He did that for us, what are we doing for Him?
