help with government grants

I have been looking into government grants, and there are a lot of sites out there for them. Does anyone know of a lagit grant site?

Have you tried federal aid? I got all my schooling paid for by that. You can also go to www.fastweb.com you will fill out some things about what year of school your going into and things like that. Then they will give you a list of grants and things like that you can apply for. Some of them do require work though. Like you might have to write a paper or something in order to try to be selected for it.

I have not applied for federal aid, is it only for school grants? I am more looking for grants to pay off debt, start a business or help with buying a house.
