A Luau Baby Shower

I have an idea for a diaper cake. Its made entirely out of diapers and you fill it in with baby needs. Baby needs are bottle washers, bibs, pacifiers etc. You could put in colorful things to mix with the luau motif. As far as the luau theme, how about creating simple bracelets with flowers,beads, etc. This could be given as a party favor. I dont mean expensive bracelets. Something very simple. I have done it for a few different themes. I think it was less than $50 for 30 bracelets. You can also have a special bracelet or necklace made up for the mother and grandmother. You can do it your self too. THe bracelets are something they can wear afterwards as well. A keepsake in the name of the baby. How cute that sounds!! I was just at Dollar Tree and they have all kinds of Luau things right now - just in time for summer. Also Target has a lot of luau things in stationary. You could use lays for the "word" game. Where every one gets a lay and who ever you lose it to who catches you if you say the word baby or diaper or boy (whatever word you choose). Hi OURDEW, Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your grandson. I've never thought of a luau shower before, but it sounds like a lot of fun. Are you going to be making paper leis for everyone? That'd be a nice touch. I'm sure you're likely having Hawaiian themed food, but have you thought of having pineapple upside down cake, for the shower cake?
