I read the story of a man who was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the bone and was told he has just 8 months to live ,he was devastated, so he withdrew to himself and his situation became worse, however on the advise of a friend he decided to make the best of his remaining months(5months,in all),he went on vacation and was visiting places he had thought of visiting but never went, after the 8 months his doctor called him to for check and the doctor was shocked to find every trace of the disease had disappeared from his body, and he concluded that his will to survive had made his body to heal itself, if it were you that was told the same thing how would you have reacted?

The mind is a powerful thing and also doctors can be wrong. I agree with the approach to make the best of the remaining time and go do as many things as you possibly can while you still can. But I'd also be pursuing second opinions and natural remedies.

I think that is great! And he got a vacation that he always wanted as a result! Reminds me of the story of Heidi! All that fresh air is good for you!
