be careful where you donate your used goods too. i heard from somone that works at a thrift store (a well known one) that if an item isnt sold after a week, they THROW IT AWAY! i guess this is because of the fact that they get so much given to them! but still, what a waste and how harmful for the environment!!!

I know our Salvation Army don't throw anything away. Some of the stuff that is there has been there for several years.

You would think they would be more careful with what they do with the donated things. We have a place in our little city that takes leftovers and ships them overseas to countries that need it! Clothes for needy children etc. That thrift store could also find other places for them...like donating they to churches that make quilts if it's clothing....and other places that make rag rugs. They are just wasting if they pitch the stuff!

I think it is very scary when people are giving away so much that charity organization cannot use it all. Where I live the Salvation Army is getting enourmous amounts of clothes. Much of it is never worn even before people donate it. Makes me wonder what people are thinking. Maybe some of us need to slow down abit on our shopping.
