Did someone here tell me that soaking in the tub with epsom salts is good for dry skin? Also, I heard epsom salts also, helps get the toxins out of you, is that true?

I know that Epsom if great for soaking tired aching feet and soaking the dry skin, if any for easier removal. But is not recommended feet soak salt for people with diabetes. Most of them already have circulation problems with their extremities, Epsom salts softens their feet too much among other problems that they should check with their doctor about before using. I don't know about getting rid of toxins. I like to know that myself, time for another internet search. I believing it is not good for people with dry skin, if for no other reason than using Epsom salts usually requires the use of hot water baths: which is not good for dry skin anyway.

any kind of salt will just make dry skin that much drier you need something like oatmeal or bath oils that will moisturize you skin. there are a lot of inexpensive bath lotions that will mositurze yourskin but epsom salts will not.

Hi Hatley, I'm sorry for not making myself clearer. I stated that people use Epsom Salts for the soaking of tired aching feet and I meant soaking for the easier removal of the dry skin of the sole of the feet. I forgot what assume means, for this is a big reason for the use of Epsom salt for a lot of people that I automatically assumed that everyone knew what I was referring to; not to any help it is to dry skin. New to this, will try and be more specific in the future, thanks for catching my mistake.

I have a friend that regularly takes baths in Epsom salts. She swears by them - she says her muscle aches improve, she feels better. She's been bugging me to get myself some - I have fibromyalgia and I believe I will try whatever it takes. I don't know what it would do for dry skin though. We slather ourselves with lotion - we're in the desert and I cannot believe how dry skin gets and how much water i now drink.

I do know that epsom salts are good for a laxative, they are good to use with some other things for a liver cleanse. They are great to put in bathtub with water and soak but I am not sure about the dry skin. I also learned this weekend that epsom salts are also good as a fertilizer. They said to spring a teaspoon around the transplanted tomatoes and peppers we planted. They are great for roses also.
