Do we get paid the same amount if we start a new discussion or reply to an already started discussion? And how much are we paid per post?

The amount is not the same but depends on the quality of your discussion: how many members respons to your post, how many + rating you've received and how many your post has been read.
I think that's the value you must concerntrate to make your discussion more attractive and earns more.
