It's All About Maintenance...

I’ve had friends that I would consider high maintenance. Expensive, designer clothes, top of the line cosmetics, costly jewelry and lots of it. It’s not just women either…I’ve known some men like that too. They wouldn’t be caught dead stopping for a quick burger at McDonald’s but insist on a classy restaurant even if they’re only having a salad. There’s nothing wrong with it but not everyone likes stuff like that.
I like comfortable cloths. I also like for them to look neat…no holes, tears, stains or stuff like that. I’m not into make up much though occasionally I’ll put a little on. The only jewelry I wear is my necklace with my cross and ring on it (though all 3 pieces are 14K b/c I have allergies to certain metals). I own maybe 2 pairs of shoes and have grown up in jeans and T-shirts. I like it this way. Hubby is also low maintenance and is just happy as long as he has cloths that fit and cover.
Are you high or low maintenance? What about your spouse? Would you ever go to the other side?

Hubby and I are both low-maintenance and prefer it that way. Hubby owns a suit but only wore it once at a wedding cause he hates it so much. I don't own any dresses or skirts but do have a couple nice dress slacks/blouses even thou I haven't worn them in years. I prefer my sweats, t-shirts, and shorts while hubby prefers his jeans, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. My daughter, however, wants so much to be high-maintenance but we simply can't afford the designer clothes/shoes she wants. I'm bettin' that when she's out of school and has a decent job, she will be buying only the best.

If I had the money to blow, I'd certainly dress in my own idea of sophisticated, with just a flare of individuality...
But, frankly, fantasies aside, I'm a working class stiff, and I gotta' go with what's affordable. I find, anyway, that too many people worry about the trivial, such as appearance, as opposed to really being good decent people to their fellow human beings. With what's happening to the economy, I can barely understand how so many can be so stupid with their financial resources, anyway.

I would say I am a little bit of both.
I am high maintenance when it comes to the style of clothing. I like fashionable clothes - LOVE shoes and like to dress with class and style. Having said that - I like a bargain too - so you won't find me in really high end stores.

I am very low maintenance, just like your husband. I am as plain as they come, I don't need objects or things to make me happy with the exception of my tv and my computer.

I am low maintenance. I can say that I have never been high maintenance. I care that my clothes fit me. I care that my clothes are clean. I care that my clothes are not ripped and scuffed. I wear clothes from the Goodwill or Salvation Army or even garage sales. I cannot even remember when I purchased something new for myself to wear. My husband/boyfriend has learned to be low maintenance. LOL

Oh I have been a high maintenance person in the past - not so much as refusing to eat at McD's or never buying cheaper alternatives but when I was younger I used to have my hair done all the time , never leave the house without full make up etc! When I think about it now I can't understand it! I hadn't worn make up in a year til the other week, I am as happy in jeans as anything and my hair hasn't seen the inside of a salon in well over a year! lol Guess now I am very low maintenance and just like to be clean and tidy - well tidyish! lol xxx

You don't like jeans with holes? Though I wouldn't wear them to anything formal, some people actually spend the extra for the holes.. I prefer to make my own..
I am not what you would call very high maintenance, but I do have my special things I like..Special dress up clothes and make up, I don't wear a lot of it all the time, it depends on my mood..Then there is the jewelery and hair accessories..Some of which I make my own..

At this time, I am very low maintenance because my taste in clothes does not fit into my budget. I like the clothes that I have, but would like to add more to my wardrobe. As far as ever becoming up maintenance. I guess it all depends on what one considers to be high maintenance.
I have a niece who hast to have a weave in her hair, her nails, and toes done weekly. She stays in the mirror for hours in the morning and at night. Her mom even commented that it is hard being Keauna. She took her vainess after her mom, but she has gone much further. I just want to look appropiate for the occassion. I do not think that is too much.

I am strictly low maintenance and prefer burger king
to some snobby high class cafe. My clothes come from
j c Pennys and do not cost a fortune. My son is the same way
as we would rather spend our money on more important
things like rent and utilities and maybe a meal out
ocassionally. we live in a high cost area so wedole
out our money very carefully.Rent itself is so high
here in Southern California and the low rent district
is so crime ridden we allstay out of it for fear of
being shot or knifes by a mexican gangster.

hi twoey 68 I am low maintenance just have a few pretty tops and acouple of skirts and I am fine to go. I do not like high
maintenance stuff as its uncomfortable and I like to be comfortable and feel good in my clothes, not having to live up to the Joneses etc.I am just me, middle class and not a snob.

Hi Twoey, both hubby and i are both low maintenance ,we arent into clothes as such, like everyone we have our clothes for any special occasions, but our favourite way to be is just in our comfy clothes.Im definately not a jewellery person,an have given away a lot of mine to my daughters,I dont see the sense in keeping it if im not going to wear it.Hubby wears none at all,he doesnt like it.We do like to have a mmeal out,but its usually at a favourite restaurant, thats not overly expensive. So all in all i would say that we are fairly to very low maintenance people.
