I'm just curious as to what you guys think. (Well, I guess not guys so much as ladies. :P) I've always been a bit of a 'tom boy', and while I'm all about dressing up/looking good now that I'm older, I can't really get cosmetics to work. (I can't apply them correctly. :P) Due to this, I usually don't try. A little eye liner/shadow is about as far as I go. I'm guessing, since I'm so inept, that make-up application is knowledge that females are born with, so if you use make-up, how did you learn to apply it? Were you taught by your mother, your friends, or did you just know? If you don't wear make up, is there a reason why? I don't wear it because I can't apply it in a way that I really like, but on other people I don't mind is (so long as it isn't caked on.) What are your feelings?

I can apply it properly if I want to, I guess it was just practice as unless you wear make-up a lot it can be difficult to get right. These days I don't bother as I'm too lazy it's just too much bother to put on and then it needs checking throughout the day and re-applied and then you have to take it all off again. No thanks there are more interesting things to do. The only times I do wear it is when it's a specisl occasion and I want to look my best.

Yeah, special occasions really are the only times that I can really justify putting forth the effort. [and trust me, it takes quite a bit of effort. I'm really not well-versed at such things, and I agree with you when you say it's necessary to be such if you want to be very good at them.] Thanks for your response.

Be confident! Do that, what makes you comfortable,do what suits you the most, you can ask your friend or family members how you look, after trying some thing new out.The point is you will have to arrange yourself properly, naturally it will take a bit time,so,be patient. I am a tomboy, personally, and I had learned all the makeup skill from my friends.Still, I don't use too many cosmetics normally, occations or partys are a exception.

Practice! I started wearing light make up in middle school. It took a lot of practice to get stuff right. Honestly, I'm 25 and still kind of suck haha. I always see these really cool eye looks and can NEVER get them to look anywhere near what the pictures look like (even w/ step by step directions). I like smokey eyes and like some off the more 'scene kid' looks, but I can't do them well and I just can't pull them off. I used to wear more make up when I was in school, but now I rarely do. I lose my make up bag a lot, which doesn't help haha. Really, just practice and try out looks when you're bored at home (it's good to try new things when you know you don't have to go out looking like that in case it doesn't work out). Then when you get something that looks right you can have a new look when you do go out. I'll stop rambling now :P
