I feel i am bettr at responding than posting discussion topics. How would you feel when suddenly, your discussion topic has been favoured by many and gets you a good number of responses unexpectedly? I am thrilled with even a small number of responses and just proceed my way. If , on the other hand I am suddenly going to get a huge number of resonses, I will naturally be very surprised. Do share your thoughts please.

I too tend to respond more than I start discussions. I am just not that creative. It really takes some waiting around for a good discussion topic to sort of just hit me on the head. I have had a few good ones but, not that have gotten me 50...at least, not that I can remember. But, that would be really cool. I would feel really good if it happened. And, I have a policy of responding back to each response inside my own discussions because I like to be appreciated and that is what others are doing by responding to my discussions, so, I like to return the favor by responding back and showing them my appreciation for their appreciation.

I love responding and posting at the same time, but, for some reason, I can't just think everyday a wonderful topic.LOL, I will be very happy when i will get plenty of responses from my topic, it means that it is something that interest the people and they can relate on it!

I feel happy when my discussion get lots of responses and I am more than happy to reply to each of the responses. I feel excited when I open my e-mail and I receive about 98 email notifications on my discussion. My not so recent discussion about "I lost my baby" got a total of 154 responses todate and I am still excited when I get notification for it. I love the responses I got there, a lot of comforting words that helped me become stronger and move on.

I would be very shocked, shocked enough to fall off my chair, bang my head and think I was dreaming. You only get that type of responce if your "face fits" and if you have loads of chatter boxes on your friend's list.

Likewise, I think I am better at responding to than starting discussions. I have started a handful of discussions, but have not had huge success. I think it is because I am still relatively new here, and I don't spend vast amounts of time chatting. I don't think I have my finger on the pulse of the "hot topics" which people like to respond to. I hope to get better with time, because it is a real buzz to find a popular subject which everyone wants to talk about.

i just posted five discussions i guess, and i already felt good when it pulled 2 or 3 responses. surely, it feels great if they pulled more and get some more. that will surely push me to post more topics, when that come...

It feels extremely good Kala! I love it! But its get monotonous while commenting on the same kind of responses and it take ages to resolve the discussion. having said this, I think its our job to maintain the interest by starting interesting discussions that could fetch different and unique responses. The duty lies in us. I try to do better but most of the times I get carried away and start a discussion motivated by something instantly! And I would like to thanks you for your wonderful responses to all my discussions. You enrich the post greatly and i really look up to yours. Happy mylotting!

I agree with her. After 3-4 pages you start to get stuck and need to freshen up. Obviously it takes ages for no way you cannot get away without acknowledging all the responses!

True Mimpi! We need to start intersting discussions and though , sometimes the responses would be similar, I would be so gratified that someone has responded to my topic and would feel extremely happy. However, it takes a long time to resolve the discussions and once someone remarked that she would keep a benchmark of thirty or so for marking the response. Thanks a lot for the kind words!

It is always a good feeling when you get a load of responses to your discussions. I tend to respond to more than I post for myself but when I do post a discussion it is nice to see my friends respond.

Hello kalav56, Like you, I too am better at responding discussions than starting my own. One of my friends started a similar discussion and I told her too that my ratio of responding to starting my own discussions is about 14 to 1. If I get that many responses to my own discussion, I wouldn't feel easy, honestly. I like to give every responder to my discussion respect as well as time to appreciate their participation. So, when it gets to so many responses, it becomes a bit difficult for me to manage. My comfort zone is between 7-15 responses or may be 20 at maximum.

Hi kalav56! Of course, i will be very happy and excited when my discussion fetched more than fifty responses; however, I am always compelled to post a comment on their responses to them afterwards just to thank them for their time and that is hard work. haha..Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

i am with you. i am a better responder than topic starter. i start discussion and get a few reponses or none at all so i would be thrilled if at least one of my discussion took off. i am surprised sometimes at the discussions that do get alot of responses though and wonder why.

I have also thought as to what kind of topics wOuld interest people and I posed it on the forum once.A kind hearted person gave me some tips saying that majority of the members were women and I should choose topics that would interest them. Thank you for the response.

I feel very happy when i get a lot of responses for the discussions that i start... but when it reaches like 30 i become quite ecstatic about it... but after a while i get a little tired because i comment on all the responses... but that is better than got getting any response at all... But i would feel even great if i have a discussion with more than a hundred responses... i wonder when that will be...
