Blatter one's said "money will spoil the beautiful game" he was reacting to Abramovich's style when he bought Chelsea and started buying superstars at exorbitant prices He felt that when single club has alot of money to buy out all great players, it will deprive other clubs level ground in a way that when other clubs bid for players a club with a lot of money will double the bid and so the player will eventually end up in the rich club. Do you think money can actually spoil the beautiful game?

Would love the idea of a salary cap for a squad of players, although it would need a close scrutiny that included bonus or other financial incentives.
Also maybe a limit on number of players who can be brought in each transfer window. Which may mean more players coming through the youth team
Unfortunately can't see any way of stopping the big clubs using financial clout, as they are the ones who would end up voting on any motion.

Sepp Blatter is an idiot, He hate's all thing's English.
What Chelsea did is no different to what Real Madrid did many year's ago when they brought all the "galatico's", ie zizane, figo and ronaldo and nothing was said then.
Having a mega rich owner like Chelsea can work against you too as the selling club know's you are rich and will boost the price up, just look at the £30,000,000 for Shevchenko, what a waste.

Money already has spoiled the beautiful game
there is no can any more. There is so little money available to the teams outside of the multi billionaire clubs that the leagues are just a joke now, with the same teams winning everything year after year.
One of the reasons England has become so poor in international terms is due to the amount of non english players playing today in the EPL. Okay it means that in club competitions they can buy the best in the world to win but there is little opportunity for English players.
Scotland has stopped doing this because our biggest teams can't compete even with the championship sometimes in bids for players but it has helped the national team as more and more young Scottish players have the chance to play.

Having many "imigrants" in England is not the reason why we have suffered in major tournamnet's. Going back to the early 90's when there was a rule that you could only have 3 none English player's in the team didn't help England win anything. Plain and simple it is becasue we are not good enough. All the player's want to do these day's is get rich and who give's a fcuk about the national team.
Look at Scotland. I would imagine that say 70% of player's up there are scotish, that aint helped Scotland in term's of winning or even qualifying for major tournament's.

Maybe not at the moment but our under 21s did a helluva lot better than Englands under 21s.
Obviously why should the English players want to play for their country, when it doesn't earn them anything and they could get injuries that would stop them playing for money, sorry their clubs.
So do you think it's a good idea that only a handful of clubs have all the money then.

In a way yes. If all the club's had a set transfer fee of £50,000,000 per year and 9 club's were interested in a player worth £4,000,000. Now obviously all these club's want this player so will out bid the other's, they will counter act it and so on and so on. This will esculate the player's value way above what he is worth. After so long there will be player's like Robert Earnshaw (crap) being sold for £30,000,000.
Small club's usually sell the talent they scout to make revenue, and then they should get add on's to the sale fee if the player reaches certain goal's.
Dont be fooled in to thinking that the lower league's have no money due to the big club's buying imigrant's and not supporting homegrown talent. Those small club's have less/no money due to being poorly managed. Classic example Leeds utd, letting one good year going to their head's and spending money willy nilly thinking they would recoup their losses on winning thing's when in reality they were crap. Many smaller club's manage their finance's better and are sucessfull.
Regard's the u21's, you have hardly done btter. England top the group with 19 points from 7 game's and Scotland are 3rd in their group with 10 point's from 5 game's. This show's that England are producing good quality youngster's with even more coming through, the only problem with the full national team is they think they are btter than they are, aload of pre - madonna's.
I think we have hijacked this poor lad's thread, allway's good talking footie with you. You are one of a few who actually make's sence on here.
