A vehicle owner found a dog in his vehicle, but not where you would expect it...

This was on last night's news. A Northern California man went out to start his vehicle, when it wouldn't start he opened the hood and found, of all things, a Pit Bull stuck with his head in the engine compartment. The dog had chewed some wires and a couple of hoses to get loose. The dog was able to get free with some human help and the dog was taken to the local animal shelter where it's owner claimed the dog. The owner of the vehicle took pictures of the dog in the engine compartment, it was so cute seeing the innocent look of the Pit Bull looking up at the camera as if to say "What, me stuck? Nah, I'm just working on the engine." As it was stated on the news the vehicle owner figured that the police wouldn't believe that the dog had gotten stuck so he raced for his camera to take the pictures. It sounds like something one of my animals would do...how about yours?

That's an awkward place to find anything. But, a dog? How did it get here? Obviously, the hood was up for a long period of time, but, that is too weird. I wonder what the dog was thinking. And the owner just had to take pictures before helping the poor animal. For what? Proof? A good laugh?

The person who took the picture took it as proof for the police department. It wasn't so much for a good laugh as a source of proof. The dog crawled up between the engine and the firewall during the night, it might have been chasing something like a mouse or a rat. The person who owned the vehicle wasn't the owner of the dog.. the fortunate thing is that the engine was obviously cold when the dog crawled up there. He also needed assistance in getting the poor dog out of the engine compartment...Pit Bulls aren't light weight...besides the fact that someone needed to be up at the top of the vehicle to guide the head down while someone else made sure that the dog was able to be clear of hoses etc on the way down. It's a California thing! I'm going to try to catch a picture of the picture from the television...I recorded the news blip so I have access to the pix so I can post it.

That sucks that the pure Pit Bull got stuck in the engine, and it is a good thing that it was okay, and I think the man was smart to take pictures, even though I kind of wonder how the dog got in that situation in the first place.
