We FINALLY went to Disneyland!

Disneyland - Here is a pic of my 13 year old son & I at Disneyland this past weekend.

We did it... finally. We got to go to Disneyland! We are living in California for only 2 years while my husband is in dental school in San Francisco. He was scheduled to attend the California Dental Association's spring scientific session in Anaheim so we all went along to take advantage of the opportunity before we move back east this summer. We figured we couldn't possibly live in California and not go to Disneyland while we are here! It was so much fun. Has anybody else been there? I'd love to see your pictures too. I have attached one, but we took a tons of others.

I was there in 1972. I had a great time there, and always wanted to go back. I go to Florida once or twice a year, but haven't been to Disney world yet. I'm planning on taking my grand niece there when she's old enough to enjoy it.

I bet it was still just as much fun in 1972 as it is now. I hope you get to go again someday. Let me see... in 1972 I was only 3 years old. LoL! Sorry, didn't mean to make you feel old. I feel ten times older than I really am at just 38 years of age. My medical problem makes me feel about 80! It will be great if you can take your grandniece to Disney World when she is a bit older. How old is she now?

How fun!! Isn't it funny how the people who LIVE right near a tourist attraction are sometimes the last to go...? Why is that? I always thought it was because you think "oh, tomorrow..." or whatever. *shrug* I haven't been to Disneyland but I did go to Disney World when I was about 12 or so.

I agree with you above31rubies. I think people always think that they can always go whenever they want to but then never do! We are only living here for 2 years so we definitely wanted to go see Disneyland before leaving this summer. My son is 13 years old now as well so I wanted to be sure to get him there before he turned 50! LoL

Hey, well we haven't been to Disneyland, but we did go to Disney World in Florida. It's so much fun, we went in 2005. I loved seeing all the characters, and riding the rides. Plus we went to various sight seeing tours. I loved Disney, and would recommend it to anyone to go to any of the Disney parks. Pablo

I've been to Disneyland before. The last time was back in '83, I believe, so it was a long time ago! LOL Now that I have kids of my own I'd love to take them there one day...

My kids are 11 and 8 years old. As much as I would love to take them there I don't see that happening unless my husband and I win the lottery! With our oldest being autistic I'd hate for my husband and I to waste the hard earned money he makes just to cut short our trip due to a meltdown...

That would be fun to take your kids to Disney someday! How old are they? My son is 13 years old and it was fun to finally get the chance to take him to Disneyland... just wish I could have taken him when he was a little younger though. He really liked it but mostly for the cool rides and the yummy food, of course!

Disney Tokyo - Tokyo Disneyland
Oh man.. I'm so envious. My dream is to visit all the Disneyland in the world. So far, I've visited 2 - Tokyo Disney and Hong Kong Disney. I love them both (especially Tokyo Disney). I hope I can visit the one in US soon.

Oh.. Because the one in Japan is much bigger than the one in Hong Kong and the one in Japan has Disney Sea which features our favorite sea characters like Little Mermaid and Flounder. If I'm not wrong, Tokyo is the only place with Disney Sea. Thanks for the well wishes. I wish you luck too!!

I hope you can too poohgal! At least you've been to two different ones so far! So, you liked the one in Tokyo the best out of the two? Why in particular? I have been to Disney World in Florida but very briefly and I was much younger, so I do not remember too much about it. I hope to be able to go back there again some day. I would love to experience the ones you went to also, that would be so much fun. Wish me luck... and I wish you much luck too!

Hi, I haven't been on myLot in a while. I am so glad you went!! It is such a wonderful place!!! I hope it wasn't to busy when you went. How did you like the Pirates of the Carribbean? We love that ride, so relaxing and cool inside. What was your favorite?

I know what you mean, can't pick a favorite because it's all so great. I am so glad you were able to go. The last time we were there was December 2007. When you go again try to go during November/December when it's decorated. Yes we have been to that restaurant a couple times, not to pricey, well worth it! You can call Disneyland next time you go and ask for the Blue Bayou (spelled wrong) restaurant to make reservations. If you go while school is in and during the week the lines are so bare! Glad you got to experience it.

Hi FaithInMangosteen - It was great at Disneyland when we went there! It was a little crowded but it was still really fun. We did have to wait in line for the Pirates of the Carribean ride quite awhile actually, but it was well worth it. I think we all really liked so many of them that it is hard to chose just one that was our favorite. I wish we could have gone to that restaurant that we saw people dining at while on the Pirates of the Carribean ride! That would've been really cool. I bet it was expensive though. It looked kind of fancy, but it was hard to tell. Did you eat there? How long ago did you go to Disney? I can't wait to go again someday so we can spend more time there. It was not the main reason for our trip to the area. My son & I were just able to tag along while my husband was at a dental conference in town. Lucky us!

It was a lot of fun! I'm glad we went too. We only spent one day in the park as we are pretty low on cash too, but it was worth it. We just made sure we planned on what we really wanted to make sure to see & ride while we were there. We went online to look at the different rides beforehand and wrote down which ones we definitely wanted to make sure we had a chance to do. It was a good plan since we didn't have much time. The park is really too big to see the whole thing in one day. Maybe one day we will be able to go back again to see the rest.

I'm so glad you made it to Disneyland - and it made sense to take the chance and go there before you move back east this summer. Sounds like it was well worth it, thanks for sharing the photo, it's great. I would love to go to Disneyland, but it's a long way from Australia, and would cost an arm and a leg! I will have to continue dreaming, lol!

No, I'm not a true blue Aussie (although I am an Australian Citizen)! I've lived in lots of places during my life - I was born in Scotland, and moved to England at age 10, as my mother re-married and he was a soldier. We got sent to Germany for 2 years where I went to school, then we went to Singapore for 3 years, then back to the UK where I finished off my schooling. I emigrated to Australia when I was 19 with my hubby where we stayed for 3 years, but I got homesick and we returned to the UK. We had our children there, then moved to Florida to open a business. We were there for 3 years, and our daughter still lives there. We returned to Australia with our 2 sons years ago, and have been here ever since. This is home! You should visit if you ever get the chance - it's a magnificent country to travel through, lots of breathtaking scenery and weird and wonderful animals to see!

Wow... living in Australia! Were you born & raised there? You see, you'd love to come to the states to see Disney, but one of my dreams is to go overseas to visit places like Australia and many others too!

That's great! I haven't been to Disneyland yet. The nearest Disneyland to me is in Hong Kong. But when I was in Hong Kong, I didn't visit Disneyland yet. Perhaps when my child grows up a little bit, then we will go there together. I love China

I guess there is much I do not know because I did not know that there is a Disneyland in Hong Kong! I guess we all learn something new every single day, huh?! I'm sure that you and your child will love it when you get the chance to go, whether it is to the one in Hong Kong or in California. I love going to amusement parks! They are sooo much fun!!! We even went to a large water park a few years ago and took my mom who was about 67 years old at the time and she even went on most of the water rides with us and she loved it. I even took her on her very first rollercoaster ride a couple years back. She is getting to be such a big girl... ha ha!

Hi lilybug - Yes, it was a lot of fun. I'm glad we had the chance to go. I was lucky to be able to spend 2 years here living in California as I spent most of my life in the north eastern part of the U.S. (Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia... oh, & also in Missouri too)!

Hi skbh12 - That would be nice if you can see Disneyland again after so long. I wish you the best of luck with your exams to practice nursing in the United States! I bet you cannot wait to be done with your exams. Again, good luck. It will be great for you to see Disneyland again! I love roller coasters! Do you like them? Some people like the other rides but not the roller coasters, but I love them. It is a great thrill! I see on your profile page here on myLot that you live in the Philippines. A friend of mine that I used to work with is half American and half Philippino. Her mother was born in the Philippines and her father the U.S.

Yep, I went but such a long time ago it's embarrassing to remember how long ago! So I don't have any pictures to share with you but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was all that it was said it would be, loads of fun, lots of rides (that I could go on too, without them being too scary). I am so glad that you had a great time and had the opportunity to go. Well done you! Thanks for sharing your happy moments with us.
