Your Computer and Quality of Life

Everyone here has a computer or/and laptop. What I would like to know is has your computer and/or laptop enhanced your life or made it more complicated? Do you spend too much time sitting in front of your computer and miss out on doing other things with your family and friends just to keep up with the commitments you have? I find that it has become a bad thing for some. They spend so much time on their PC and/or laptop that their health is now suffering. They have so many things going on that they have forgotten how to do anything else but sit in front of a screen.. The first thing they think of when waking up every morning is what they have to do today on their PC. Well, I just realized I am one of those who spend way too much time in front of my PC screen. I have blogs that must be updated, Paid To sites I have to visit and surf or read E-mails, Entrecards to drop and I just can't miss visiting Mylot to read what is going on with everyone. My quality of life is slipping by and I have no one to blame but myself. For 2 days my son took my laptop to work with him and it nearly drove me crazy.... I actually got up at 4:00AM to get in a couple of hours of work before he came by to pick it up. So how is your PC and/or Laptop effecting your life? Is it good or bad?

Well i can safely say that Computers had a double edged effect on me. As with everything there are the Goods and the Bads... Well the good part for me is that i got the Award Best in Computer from my Highschool and they gave me a scholarship (Which is waaay cool) But the bad side I guess is im putting on a little wait because I am lacking exercise. LOL But anyway I'll try to work out ^_^. Have a nice Day!

Hi Kowgirl-guess in a sense I'm getting like that though not as bad at the moment-the thing that realy annoys me is my son is on my lap-top a lot of the time which means I stay up late to be on mylot though sometimes during the day as well-but do try and do other things that need doing-gardening etc-though the thought of getting on my pc is always at the back of my mind-sad eh?-littleowl

The computer/internet is very addicting and a huge time waster for me. I'll have a list of five things I need to do and sometimes I'll leave the computer and I didn't do anything I needed to. It's like a black hole in a way. I can sit down and chat on mylot and get nothing else done. I really do have to limit myself and write out a list of things/emails I have to do on the computer. My kids help limit my computer time as well. Right now I'm also making a quilt. That wouldn't be happening if the computer was first priority. The computer should be a tool to help us get things done, not a time waster. I'm learning to have a focus/prioritize.

I am sitting in front of computers almost 5 hours a day, as because I need to work, earn, play, listen music on computer, but not more than that, otherwise it will appear that I am neglecting my family,or work or academics. The main point is, we will have to manage our time properly.I think I am not addicted to the computer,I use it,because I need it.
