aiighty.. i started a discussion yesterday in regards to my disdain for lazy writers that use text speach as their method of communication here on the Lot. this discussion was taken entirely out of the context in which it was done. quite simply.. my disdain for the text speach. ive been accused of being racist.. apparently i hate foreigners and have no tolerance for those without a full grasp of the english language.. this is news to me. some assumed i was insulting others intelligence for typos and lack of punctuation, improper sentence structures, etc. again.. false, i dont give a crap if yer entire sentence is a run on prepositional phrase. those with axes to grind from pervious discussions where my oppinion wasnt met with great zeal, attempted to turn the tables on me for my own pheonetic way of typing that i use for emphasis on my accent. again.. i dont have a problem with this either, as me and sparks had a quite lengthy discussion in the form of redneck-ese and everything was written pheonetically as the way it wouldve been spoken and i found the conversation quite amusing and enjoyable. my one and ONLY grievance and the entire purpose behind the entire discussion was my dislike of text speach on a chat forum that isnt a cell phone. thats it.. nothing else.. very simple, one more time..
i wasnt attempting to insult those of you with not so great grammar
i dont dislike foriegners for their lack of a grasp on the english language
i wasnt speaking of punctuation, capitalizations, sentence structures, or typos

ha ha! i think thats possession.. but even so.. i know my wonderfully magnetic personality has the opposite affect on some rare individuals.. but if theyre gonna get pissy with me.. get pissy with me for something i actually did (theres plenty to choose from!) not make up crap to be pissy about!

just a thought but is txt talk the newest dialect maybe. every generation leaves an impression on the english language with the subtle changes. just some are not as subtle. I would say this is just another sign of aging.. along with i cant stand that dang gone loud music and other things that we always heard from our parents.

IDK what you are talking about! lol Sorry I had to! Anyway I totally agree with you. Are people really too lazy to type it out. Has this world really become that lazy not to type out the word to instead of typing "2"! I can't imagine in 10 years how we are going to talk. I hear so many kids talking in text! Saying OMG IDK WTF TTYL??
Its horriable. I will muzzel my kid if she ever talks in text! Okay maybe not muzzle really but it will be close!

Whoooeee! You really seem to have dug yourself into a hole there without starting out with that intention. I missed that thread but by the sound of it sparks flew.
I've been grumped once here and it took me by suprise. I had to try hard to see where I had gone wrong. Well apart from disagreeing with the person.
Maybe that is all it takes with some people. How dull that would make a discussion forum if we all had to agree!!

O NYD! WTF? HAHAHAHHAHAH sorry but I have to laugh. I did a whole discussion on text lingo and half of the people who responded to it didn't know what the heck I was typing. I must have missed the discussion you wrote this one in regards to but I am sure you weren't being anything other than you dear.

I guess I missed that one. Seems I've been hung up in anough of my own battles of wit. SOme people, man, they think they know everything about everyone and everything, but when you stop and read it over again, you feel like smackin upside the head...I feel like saying sometimes, S L O W D O W N R E A D W H A T I W R O T E!!!!!!!
