Omaha man uses steak knife to perform self-tracheotomy

This guy was really brave and he is alive due to that... Wilder said he didn't call 911 because he didn't think help would arrive in time. So, the 55-year-old says, he got a steak knife from the kitchen and made a small hole in his throat, allowing air to gush in. Wilder suffered from throat cancer and related breathing problems several years ago. About that time, he had an episode where he couldn't breath because his air passages swelled shut. Wow that is one brave man. He wanted to live so he did what he needed to do. It's good that he did that but as I think about it I don't know whether I would have had the guts to do something like that. I mean it's going to hurt. But then when something like that happens you don't really think about the pain.
