"I DON'T DO FEAR!
Over the last 105 years in the saddle, I've seen my share of conflict in the world, but every time this country has come out stronger than before. Because chrome and asphalt put distance between me and whatever the world can throw at me. Freedom and wind outlast hard times. And the rumble of my engine drowns out all the spin on the evening news. If 105 years have proved one thing, it's that fear sucks and doesn't last long
SCREW IT, LET'S RIDE!"

Now here's a ad campaign all of America should get behind. We're Americans! Yeah, we've had our crises, but we grow from them. We have a government that gets unresponsive to the people, but no politician lives forever! We have depressions, recessions and hard times, but even in those we have time to cut loose and let go!
This is the heart of the American dream! It's not about what we have, but what we do with it. It's not about who we are, but what we do with our lives! It's about freedom to choose, freedom to decide and freedom to ride!I agree with this ad! I've lived the last 5 years of my life in constant fear. Not about terrorism, global warming or Democrats in the White House, but fear in its pure form. I've layed on my bed at times, a quivering mass of meat, scared to move. Not because of what I thought might happen, or wouldn't happen, but scared that moving would bring on the ugly.
No more. I'm going back to how I was before the walls came down. Fear is a motivating factor, not an inhibiting one. If I'm afraid to be broke, that's all the reason I need to get out and make some money! If I'm afraid of getting broke, that's all the reason I need to get out an prove to myself it won't break me. If it does, then being broken is all the motivation I need to get fixed! (no, not that way.;~D).
We, as Americans shouldn't fear anything, we should be willing to face anything! High gas prices? What high gas prices! We're still better off than most the world that way. 5% unemployment? That means 95% of the people in America who want jobs, have jobs! Want to run a crack house in my neighborhood? Just try it!This is just an ad to sell motorcycles, but there's more to it than that. Advertizers don't try to tap into obscure corners of the world, they try to sing to the choir. They aren't out to reach the one or two people in the shadows, they appeal to the masses.
America isn't about fear or cowaring in the corner, so it's about time we start living up to what our Founding Fathers handed to us.
FEAR SUCKS!
LET'S RIDE!

That is what makes America great. I do not know why some will not get it, but I am glad that some do. If Carter, the worse President in history, did not destory this country nothing will. Fear is our worse enemy. We fear to drill for oil because what could happen to the enviroment. We fear to tell the truth about race because someone will call us a racist. We fear to talk about homosexuallity because someone will call us homophobic. We fear to talk about government programs because it will offend the people on them. I am not going to run out there and buy a hybrid just becuase the media tells me it is my duty to save gas. I have a truck and I love it. They will have to kill me before I give my truck up. If I ever give up by truck I will just get another. Yes it has a V8, but it will last longer that those stupid little hybrids. I have a job, my husband has a job, everyone in by subdivision has a job, and everyone at by church has a job. If you do not have one go find one. No one is too good to work at Wal-Mart.

"I have a truck and I love it."
Exactly! You have a truck and I don't! All that means is, I have something to work towards. :~D

..here's a new motto from a long time harley rider (well, hubby's harleys anyway) - "whining sucks!" I like that little clip a while back from Jay Leno.. "why are so many americans disatisfied" or something like that.. where he goes on to say "is it because we have clean water.. lots of food.. Is it because if our house catches fire, a fire department will come and put it out? If we are attacked or hurt we can call 911 and someone will be sent out to help us?" It's not a very close quote, and his list is a lot longer, but I can't remember the rest of it, but I thought it put a better slant on life in the usa.. just what is so horrible that so many think if things don't change drastically it will be just awful? I hate to tell them, but big changes will likely not be improvements! The way some whine about everything, seems to me they are absolutely determined that their kids or grandkids live in the usa as a third world country.. Then all these whiners will be happy. God figure!

So true! If we were a third world country, or had it far worse than we do, but even better than so many, there wouldn't be near as much time fer whining..
