home making: Is it a woman's job?

Anthropologists researching other cultures, (especially hunter - gather ones) from that of the west have apparently discovered that 'home making' and nuturing are skills that have applied to men, leaving women to hunt for food. This is not unlike the 'lioness' in the animal kingdom. So, are women natural home makers?
